A limited production, hand crafted Pinot reflecting the best of Marlborough. Intense, and for serious Pinotphiles, Ra Nui reflects choice selection of clonal and rootstock, and low yields, a sensitive oak treatment with lees ageing. Grapes were sourced from both the Baldy vineyard and the Ra Nui Summer Valley vineyard, both situated near the town of Blenheim, in the lee of the Wither Hills. Both are small sites, quite close to each other, planted with select Dijon clones of Pinot Noir resulting in low yields and concentrated flavors.

This is a very attractive Marlborough Pinot Noir from Ra Nui. The nose is clean, perhaps lacking a little complexity and lift with light raspberry leaf, cranberry and green leaves. Good definition though. The palate has a nice crisp raspberry and strawberry-tinged entry, good acidity, crisp and slight leafy with a fresh sour cherry finish. Well balanced, well focused and highly recommended. Drink now.
