Dark ruby in color, the 2009 Pinot Noir boasts aromas of wild strawberry, violets, dark plum, and vanilla spiked oak. Flavors reminiscent of dark plum, raspberry, tobacco leaf, cocoa nibs, and rhubarb finishing with a hint of earthy loam, black cherry, and toffee. The crisp acidity keeps you coming back for more. The harvest of 2009 was a very strong one for Pinot Noir lots from Monterey and Santa Barbara Counties. Long hang time and complete ripening allowed the grapes to hold their acid while the fruit developed in the skin.
