Canard Vineyard 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
$99.99Napa Valley California
Wow a very rich and fruit driven bouquet, dark cherry liqueur, cassis and currant like fruit with sweet tobacco spice, dark chocolate. This is 100% varietal and is all Clone 7, a very smooth and easy drinking Cabernet with lots of intensity, big but still quite balanced with a long layered finish. R10-3 -
Les Cadrans de Lassegue 2022 St. Emilion Grand Cru
$29.99 – $150.00Bordeaux France
James Suckling 93 Rating
Les Cadrans de Lassègue 2022 showcases a beautiful deep and shiny color. From the first aeration, aromas of nutmeg and white pepper evolve towards fresh notes of rose petals and red fruits, all with great clarity. On the palate the wine is rich, fruity and well balanced; the persistent freshness is carried by melted tannins and a beautiful minerality, characteristic of clay-gravelly-siliceous soils. This vintage of Les Cadrans de Lassègue expresses a lot of finesse and elegance, it can be appreciated over the next ten years.

Poggiotondo 2018 Chianti Riserva
$34.99 – $150.00Tuscany Italy
Antonio Galloni 94 Rating
The 2018 Chianti Riserva is one of the very finest wines I have ever tasted from Alberto Antonini’s Poggiotondo estate. The aromatics alone are beguiling. There is a feeling of transparency in the 2018 that is hugely appealing. Crushed red berry, mint, spice, cinnamon and earthy overtones abound. Crazy, intensely perfumed aromatics grace the exquisite finish.

Cakebread Cellars 2021 Dancing Bear Cabernet Sauvignon
$198.99 – $1,140.00Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Lastly, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch comes from a stunning estate vineyard on Howell Mountain with the plantings dating back to 1999. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and a splash of Cabernet Franc, aged in 59% new oak, this beauty reminds me of a great Saint-Julien (Leoville Barton?) with its incredible purity and regal, structured style. Crème de cassis, lead pencil, violets, chalky minerality, and chocolaty oak all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, ripe yet perfectly integrated tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It needs air if drinking any time soon and will ideally be given 4-6 years in the cellar. This beauty will have three decades of overall longevity.

Castiel Estate 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain
$177.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
Another masterpiece from the talents of Celia Welch, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain comes from a site on Howell Mountain and spent 20 months in new French oak. It’s a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful Mountain Cabernet revealing ample smoked black fruits, notes of graphite, tobacco, spicy wood, and bouquet garni, a dense, layered mid-palate, building tannins, and a gorgeous overall profile that will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age. It will unquestionably have two decades or more of prime drinking. SP23-6 -
Moulin de Gassac 2023 Picpoul de Pinet
$11.99 – $108.00Languedoc France
Enjoyabilityfactor 91 Rating
From vineyards very near the oyster beds on the Mediterranean Sea, this wine is a classic example of why Picpoul is known as the “Southern Muscadet”. Intriguing, briny mineral notes in both the nose and mouth provide the perfect backdrop for fish and shellfish. Some melon and citrus flavors keep you coming back for more and the crisp acidity assures that your palate does not tire from this zesty wine. Most stores $14.99.

Cuentavinas 2021 Tinto Fino
$59.99 – $300.00Ribera del Duero Spain
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Coming from the Ribera del Duero, the 2021 Tinto Fino is a different beast with its juicy red and blue fruits as well as spring flowers, violets, leather, and peppery nuances. It’s plush, round, supple, and straight-up sexy on palate, with a touch more flesh and opulence.
