The 2016 Bella Union opens with inviting aromas of black cherry, dark plum, blueberry, and cassis with intimations of warm oak, vanilla, and baking spices. Expansive, fruit-forward plum, black cherry, and blueberry flavors coat the midpalate, followed by notes of toasted oak, cinnamon, and nutmeg. A vivid ruby color with a garnet tinge and super-restrained nose of licorice, oak bark, smoke, wood, cigar box, leather, dark chocolate, crushed violets and prunes. Freshness and subtlety. Full-bodied and elegant on the palate due to ripe, filigree tannins with long acidity and a toasty, savory aftertaste. One of the great Amarones. Corvina and Rondinella. Ready to drink now but intended for the long haul. SP42-6

Bethel Heights Vineyards 2021 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard

    Price range: $79.99 through $450.00

    Eola-Amity Hills Willamette Valley Oregon
    Wine Advocate 98+ Rating
The 2021 Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard comes from a single block of 667 clone vines and is one of the most impressive Pinot expressions I've encountered from the 2021 vintage in the Willamette Valley so far. Medium ruby-purple, it has intense, singular and pure aromatics: cranberry, rhubarb and blueberry are accented by fine touches of conifer, aniseed, iron and pipe tobacco, and it continues to shift and change as it spends time in the glass. The medium-bodied palate is powerful, offering highly concentrated, detailed fruit and a support of abundant, powdery tannins. It has seamless, energetic acidity and haunting streaks of spice and earth that fan across the tremendously long finish. It's difficult to put this wine down, although it will reward drinkers patient enough to tuck it away in the cellar. R14-4 BX-6

Betz Family Winery 2019 The Untold Story Columbia Valley

    $24.99

    Washington State
The Untold Story is deeply colored, with a dark purple core fading out to a bright magenta rim. The color is reflective of the aromatics: smoky black fruits, blueberries, blackberries, dark plums and cassis swirl about, adding incense and graphite alongside crushed herbs as it gets air. The palate is layered with a plush texture that perfectly balances fresh acidity and fine tannins leading to a lengthy finish that carries a delightful mix of bright rosemary, fresh berries and cracked spice.
