Cakebread Cellars 2021 Dancing Bear Cabernet Sauvignon
$198.99 – $1,140.00Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Lastly, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch comes from a stunning estate vineyard on Howell Mountain with the plantings dating back to 1999. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and a splash of Cabernet Franc, aged in 59% new oak, this beauty reminds me of a great Saint-Julien (Leoville Barton?) with its incredible purity and regal, structured style. Crème de cassis, lead pencil, violets, chalky minerality, and chocolaty oak all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, ripe yet perfectly integrated tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It needs air if drinking any time soon and will ideally be given 4-6 years in the cellar. This beauty will have three decades of overall longevity.

Cambria 2022 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard
$24.99 – $240.00Santa Maria Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Rating
The value-priced 2022 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard comes from a site in the Santa Maria Valley and was brought up in 22% new French oak. Its translucent ruby hue is followed impressive notes of ripe cherry and strawberry fruits supported by pretty spice, flora, and leafy herb-like aromas and flavors. A wine that would hand many a Village Burgundy its ass, it’s well worth buying and drinking over the coming 3-5 years.

A fluid, expressive style, full of cherry, plum, truffle, eucalyptus and tobacco flavors. Fine balance and a lively structure keep this focused and long on the finish. Decant now or cellar another year or two. Best from 2018 through 2032. R3-3 -
Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino
$39.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 93 Rating
The Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers a more robust bouquet compared to its peers, with its dark and saturated fruit. One thing Camigliano has going for it is that it always delivers the characteristics of its environment. In this case, the vines are located in a warm, sun-drenched corner of Tuscany, and the warm ripeness of the fruit is a testament of place. R37-2 -
Camigliano 2018 Brunello di Montalcino
$39.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Spectator 92 Rating
Ripe and opulent, boasting macerated cherry, plum, eucalyptus and iron flavors matched to a muscular structure. Shows beefy tannins that take over on the finish, yet this feels balanced, with a beam of cherry persisting through the conclusion. Best from 2026 through 2043. BX-6 -
Campo alla Sughera 2018 Arnione Bolgheri Superiore DOC
$79.99 – $390.00Tuscany Italy
Dense ruby red, the nose expresses a great and deep aromatic complexity, with balsamic notes of eucalyptus, bitter orange, black cherry, ripe strawberry, complemented by a whiff of Mediterranean scrub and spices. In the mouth it is extremely elegant, fine, structured and soft, pleasantly savory, with a surprising finish of ripe red fruit.
