So bright and aromatic with flowers and blackberries, as well as some black olives. Full-bodied with lots of tannins, yet they are so fine and integrated and spread across the palate. This is all whole-cluster fermentation and 18 months in large oak casks. Needs about four or five years to come together.

Caterwaul 2018 Regusci Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$99.99Napa Valley California
Antonio Galloni 95 Rating
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Regusci Vineyard is a powerful, dense wine. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, chocolate, spice, licorice and lavender infuse the 2018 with tons of richness. Tasted next to the Cemetery, the Regusci is a bit more overt and opulent in style, with ripeness pushed to the max. The 2018 turns up the dial on everything; fruit intensity, acid and tannin. It is a decidedly flamboyant Cabernet from this historic Stags Leap property. -
Caterwaul 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
$59.99Napa Valley California
This vintage of Caterwaul expresses an impressive array of decadent fruit, exotic spice, and mouth-watering structure. In the glass, the wine exhibits a completely opaque, deep purple hue with a dark violet halo. Aromas swell from the glass in waves of black cherry, plum reduction, aromatic wood, eucalyptus, and pine bough. The palate is marked by a very sleek, polished mouthfeel. Complex notes of roasted meat, cassis, quince, macerated blackberry, and nutmeg are intricately layered, framed by a complimentary acidity. This wine offers a wealth of pure Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon character that is readily accessible today and should age well in the cellar for decades. R31-6 -
Cattleya 2015 Soberanes Vineyard Syrah

The tiny production 2015 Syrah Soberanes Vineyard is a sensational Syrah that has complexity, elegance and richness. Upfront and perfumed aromatically, yet with serious intensity in its violets, flowers, blueberries, toasty oak and spice, it has an elegant, seamless style on the palate that’s already hard to resist. Reminding me of a silky Côte Rôtie from the southern end of the appellation, it needs 2-3 years of bottle age and will keep for a decade. WBCBuy this by the 6pk for $69.99 per bottle

CAVE DE ROQUEBRUN 2019 St.-Chinian-Roquebrun La Grange des Combes
$16.99 – $84.00Languedoc-Roussillon France
Wine Advocate 90 Rating
A tank-aged blend of 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, the 2019 Saint-Chinian Roquebrun La Grange des Combes offers up notes of blueberries and black cherries, grounded by hints of dark earth and espresso. It’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe, silky tannins and a soft, lingering finish. While not a blockbuster, it’s a fruit-driven, moderately complex wine that ends on a savory note and would be a nice companion to lamb or beef.
Must be ordered.

$129.99Walla Walla Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
The 2016 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard checks in as 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier that was fermented with roughly 70-80% stems and brought up in 15% new demi-muids and foudre. This beauty has incredible elegance and purity as well as full-bodied richness, complex notes of blackberry, cherries, stone hearth, decayed flowers, and salted meats, and a savory style that’s going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more. Cayuse 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard
$139.99Walla Walla Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2016 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard is another winner (best to date?), showing an incredibly bloody, iron quality as well as beautiful purity in its bright cherry, blackberries, violets, pork fat, and acacia flower aromas and flavors. Seamless, silky, gorgeous, and perfectly balanced, it's another heavenly wine from Baron that’s going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for 10-15. R10-1
