  • Chateau Tour St-Christophe 2018 St-Emilion Grand Cru

    $49.99

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Emerging from a beautiful, terraced vineyard on the eastern side of Saint-Emilion, the 2018 Château Tour Saint Christophe is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc that was brought up in 40% new French oak. Its vivid purple color is followed by a great nose of blackcurrants, blueberries, tobacco leaf, chocolate, violets, and chocolate. Hitting the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, it has this wonderful sense of purity and elegance, a touch of chalky minerality, flawless balance, and a great finish. This beautiful, elegant, seamless Saint-Emilion needs 4-5 years of bottle age but will evolve for 20-25 years. You won't regret having this in the cellar. 95+. SP54-8 R7-2

A powerhouse of a wine that flirts with perfection, the 2019 Hermitage reveals a dense purple hue as well as an extraordinary bouquet of sweet blue fruits supported by notes of crushed stone, lead pencil, leather, and ground pepper, with hints of flowers in the background. Full-bodied, stunningly pure, and massively concentrated, yet with riveting precision and elegance, it needs to be hidden in the back of the cellar for a decade and will evolve for 30, 40, if not 50 years. Tasting the trilogy of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 over the coming decades will be the equivalent of wine nirvana. SP39-9

Another incredible white from this family is the 2019 Hermitage Blanc, a powerful, concentrated, and remarkably pure Hermitage that has laser-like focus as well as textbook Marsanne notes of quince, green almond, powdered rock, licorice, and spice. It’s still tight, focused, and inward at present, yet it reminds me of the 2018 with its purity and rare mix of power and elegance. It’s worth trying a bottle any time over the coming 3-5 years, but after that, I’d recommend waiting until after 2031. R43-2

The 2019 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is pure and ripe with raspberry liqueur, fresh violets, and elegant wood spice. The palate has a weightless feel, with elegant structure and fully ripe tannins, fresh red fruit, and a floral lift. Drink it over the next 6-8 years. R19-3

The nose is deep and brooding, with aromas of blackcurrants, cassis and roasted game meat. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and acidity, giving notes of blackberry compote, spices and tobacco leaves. Very savory and dark. Drink or hold.

The stunning 2013 Eternity Proprietary Red wine is obviously a Bordeaux blend. It reveals unsmoked cigar tobacco and licorice, Christmas fruitcake, cedar wood and plenty of blackberry and cassis fruit along with a full-bodied palate. The oak is well-disguised by the wine’s lavish concentration and intensity. It should drink beautifully for another 20+ years. SP28-7

  • Cliff Lede 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry

    $249.99

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Advocate 95+ Rating
Always one of the stars of Napa is Cliff Lede’s Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry and the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot. Never the biggest wine made by Cliff Lede, this is an elegant, classic Stags Leap example with finesse allied to beautifully pure power and balance. Deep and rich and possibly, at this stage, less expressive than some of its siblings, it is simply loaded and poised for a brilliant future. Consumers should give this 4-5 years of bottle age and drink it over the following 25-30 years. R41-2 SP22-1

  • Cliff Lede 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $69.99

    Stags Leap District Napa Valley
    Wine Enthusiast 95 Rating
Blended with 13% Merlot and smaller amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this is a focused and youthfully grippy wine, showing a fervor of succulent red- and black-currant and licorice. Thick, rich and intensely structured, it possesses a mineral-like earthiness of crushed rock and enduring structure. R13-1
