  • Clos du Roy 2020 Red Blend Fronsac

    $29.99$138.00

    Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The 2020 Clos Du Roy offers up a pure, beautifully clean bouquet of ripe black cherries, plums, tobacco, and cedary spices. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Fronsac with a balanced, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It’s a stunning Fronsac to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. SP51-6

  • Clos i Terrasses Clos Erasmus 2017 Laurel

    $59.99

    Priorat, Spain
    Wine Advocate 95 Rating
The 2017 Laurel is a blend of the younger vines, some barrels that were declassified from Clos Erasmus and the remaining Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the low-yielding and dry 2017 vintage, it's 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 15% alcohol. The wine fermented mostly in concrete and oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a combination of oak vats, concrete, used barriques and amphorae for 16 months. They produce this to be approachable from the moment it's released. The 2017s feel very aromatic, open, expressive and young, quite primary, tender and juicy and surprisingly fresh for a dry, warm year that resulted in a very early harvest. There is a peachy, soft, approachable quality here that I like very much. Surprisingly enough, winemaker and proprietor Daphne Glorian sees reminiscences of the 2013s in the 2017s, and I have to agree. SP35-6

  • Clos La Roquete 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc

    $49.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
I always love this white, and the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc Clos Roquete Blanc is no exception. Pure, clean, and elegant, with medium-bodied aromas and flavors of ripe lemon, honeysuckle, and white flowers, it has a pretty, seamless, impeccably balanced profile and is already impossible to resist. • Clos Mogador 2022 Priorat

    $119.99$600.00

    Spain
    Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Their single-vineyard 2022 Clos Mogador, they flagship wine, was produced with a blend of grapes, mostly Garnacha and Cariñena but also some Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon (less and less, as they are regrafting most of them). It has a very Mediterranean nose with plenty of dry hay and straw notes, the classical wet slate notes, very Priorat too, and it has a round palate and very fine, chalky tannins. It’s serious and harmonious and feels relaxed, without any excess.

  • Clos Saint Jean 2018 Chateauneuf Du Pape La Combe Des Fous

    $149.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
The star of the show in 2018 is the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Combe Des Fous, which has an incredible mix of complexity, power, and elegance that’s something to behold. Sporting a deep purple/plum color as well as a killer bouquet of blackcurrants, lavender, peppery garrigue, graphite, and white chocolate, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a seamless, multi-dimensional texture, incredible tannins, and a gorgeous finish. This is as good as 2018 gets, and while it’s already impossible to resist, it’s going to evolve for 15+ years. SP34-4

  • Col d’Orcia 2016 Poggio al Vento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

    $159.99

    Tuscany Italy
    James Suckling 98 Rating
Super classic Brunello from a classic vintage, being released now. The perfume to this is really something, with cherries, flowers, lead pencil and light hints of graphite. Then it moves to raspberries and black cherries with some sandalwood shavings. You just want to smell it. Clear and transparent. Full-bodied with very fine and succinct tannins that fill the mouth and show super tension and form. Extremely long and structured. Beautiful now, but this will age for decades ahead. Drink or hold.

  • Col d’Orcia 2020 Brunello di Montalcino

    $49.99$240.00

    Tuscany Italy
    Wine Advocate 94 Rating
The organic Col d’Orcia 2020 Brunello di Montalcino offers a classic Sangiovese bouquet with warm-vintage intensity. It shows sweet aromas of raspberry tart and cooked cherry. There is a delicate element of smoked spice at the back. The tannins are open-knit, and the wine offers immediate drinking pleasure. It should be exciting to follow this wine’s future evolution. “We try to protect the freshness of Sangiovese,” says Count Francesco Marone Cinzano. “That is our reading of traditional Brunello.”
