Domaine Hubert Brochard 2023 Sancerre

Wine Spectator 90 Rating
A piercing version, with a flinty profile to the firm stone fruit, flecked with oregano and a hint of honeysuckle. Angular and focused, showing density on the bone-dry, smoky finish. Drink now through 2028.

Domaine Huet 2018 Le Haut Lieu Moelleux Vouvray

The 2018 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux is clear and seductively ripe on the elegant, still yeasty nose with a mineral backbone and its chalky background. Sweet and lush but fine and filigreed on the palate, this is a salty, frisky, elegant, densely woven and well-structured Haut-Lieu with fine tannins and a long, complex finish that is rich and finessed at the same time, with lingering piquancy and stimulating salinity. This 2018 is a very charming but also serious Chenin Blanc with fine tannins, good tension and aging potential. R33-5 -
Domaine Huet 2020 Vouvray Demi Sec Le Haut-Lieu
$39.99Loire Valley France
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The 2020 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec is clear, pure, subtle, deep and fresh, with highly refined chalky/sandy lemon aromas. Rich and intense yet silky textured and refined on the concentrated palate, this is a juicy, highly elegant, perfectly balanced, persistently salty and mouth-salivating Haut-Lieu with very fine tannins and a long, firm and pretty powerful but elegant and complex finish. Still more stringent than the Le Mont Demi-Sec in the beginning, but after aeration, this is not just a greatly finessed Chenin but one of the finest Haut-Lieu’s I have tasted from Huet. BX-9 R8-8 -
Domaine Jean Grivot 2022 Vosne-Romanee
$124.99Cote de Nuits Burgundy France
Decanter Magazine 94 Rating
The attractive medium-deep ruby color announces a pleasantly ripe plummy fruit with nuance of smoke and earth. The texture is supple, and yet there is sufficient tension and grip to draw this out to a lingering finish. It is still ageing in cask (20% new) and will be bottled in March according to the moon’s phase. It is a true ‘cuvée ronde’, a blend of 10 climats from around the village from the top, such as Aux Champs Perdrix, to the base of the slope at Pré de la Folie. SP1-6 -
Domaine La Tour Vieille 2022 Banyuls Rimage 500ml
$29.99Languedoc Roussillon France
Grenache is picked slightly overripe, and only ferments briefly with whole bunches before alcohol is added, thereby stopping fermentation while there is still a considerable amount of residual sugar in the wine. The wine then macerates for another approx. 6 weeks before pressing. The palette is round and soft, without becoming alcohol-heavy. Here are lots of both red and black berries, and a nice little seasoning at the end.

James Suckling 97 Rating
Open and aromatic with honeysuckle flowers, dried apples and mangoes, as well as white peaches and stone. Full-bodied, this grows slowly on the palate with an intense, powerful finish. Lots of cream, cooked apples, lemons and light oak at the very end. Tight and right. Try after 2023. R22-2 -
Domaine Louis Latour 2020 Meursault
$79.99Burgundy France
James Suckling 93 Rating
Aromas of ripe apples and lemons with a lavender and honeysuckle undertone. It’s full-bodied with lovely firmness and form that gives the wine tension and focus. Hints of hay to the bright fruit in the aftertaste. R36-2 -
Domaine Louis Moreau 2017 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru
$99.99Burgundy France
Wine Enthusiast 97 Rating
Hints of cool chalk and bright lemon show on this wine’s shy but fresh nose. A whisper of smoke accompanies the stony, wet-chalk notes. Chalkiness is even more pronounced on the palate, pervading texture and body, but also referencing lemon zestiness and riper tangerine. Gorgeously fresh now, this alluring wine is certain to evolve. Domaine Lucien Boillot & Fils 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin

This Gevrey-Chambertin 2019 from Domaine Lucien Boillot is intense ruby with still purplish reflections. The nose is pleasant, combining black fruits with a well-melted woodiness. The palate is rich, structured, powerful with relatively fine tannins. Ripe red fruits stand out. SP3-1
