Domaine La Tour Vieille 2022 Banyuls Rimage 500ml
$29.99Languedoc Roussillon France
Grenache is picked slightly overripe, and only ferments briefly with whole bunches before alcohol is added, thereby stopping fermentation while there is still a considerable amount of residual sugar in the wine. The wine then macerates for another approx. 6 weeks before pressing. The palette is round and soft, without becoming alcohol-heavy. Here are lots of both red and black berries, and a nice little seasoning at the end.

Wine Enthusiast 92 Rating
Rounded notes of ripe, dark cherry on the nose of this wine spell generosity and juiciness. The palate delivers but frames the fruit with freshness and a web of tannins that leave a pleasantly brushing sensation, expressing the well-managed richness and generosity. BX-12

Domaine Louis Latour 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
$199.99Burgundy France
James Suckling 97 Rating
Open and aromatic with honeysuckle flowers, dried apples and mangoes, as well as white peaches and stone. Full-bodied, this grows slowly on the palate with an intense, powerful finish. Lots of cream, cooked apples, lemons and light oak at the very end. Tight and right. Try after 2023. R22-2 -

Domaine Louis Moreau 2017 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru
$99.99Burgundy France
Wine Enthusiast 97 Rating
Hints of cool chalk and bright lemon show on this wine’s shy but fresh nose. A whisper of smoke accompanies the stony, wet-chalk notes. Chalkiness is even more pronounced on the palate, pervading texture and body, but also referencing lemon zestiness and riper tangerine. Gorgeously fresh now, this alluring wine is certain to evolve. This Gevrey-Chambertin 2019 from Domaine Lucien Boillot is intense ruby with still purplish reflections. The nose is pleasant, combining black fruits with a well-melted woodiness. The palate is rich, structured, powerful with relatively fine tannins. Ripe red fruits stand out. SP3-1 -

Domaine Lucien Boillot & Fils 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin
$79.99 – $420.00Cote de Nuits Burgundy France
Today the 7ha farm is composed of vines inherited in Côte de Beaune (2.80 ha) and vines bought in Côte de Nuits (4.30 ha) on 16 different appellations: Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet… All vines are owned. Pinot Noir represents nearly 95% of the grapes produced, supplemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
The average age of the vines is important (nearly 55 years) which explains the complexity of all the vintages. The estate works in reasoned struggle with certain methods inspired by organic farming. The harvest is carried out manually and all the grapes are usually 100% destemmed. The fermentations are gentle, derived from indigenous yeasts by limiting extraction. Aging is carried out in oak barrels at about 30% new barrels for 16 to 18 months depending on the year. The result? Authentic, precise wines, both elegant and in a delicate style.

Domaine Lucien Boillot 2019 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux
$119.99Cote de Nuits Burgundy France
Jasper Morris 92 Rating
Mid purple with a sterner bouquet. The Corbeaux displays a delicious sweetness of fruit on the palate before a firmer structure behind medium to long finish. Not immediately seductive but with plenty of promise for the longer term especially as the wine stays fresh at the back. SP3-1 -
