  • Mirabeau 2023 Pure Rose

    $16.99$84.00

    Cotes de Provence France
    Vinous 90 Rating
The 2023 Rose Mirabeau en Provence Pure makes a lasting impression as enriching notes of confectionary spice and sweet smoke complement freshly sliced nectarines. It’s silken in form, with stimulating acidity and citrus tones that add a lovely depth as ripe pit fruit swirls throughout. The 2023 tapers off with admirable length, spicy and energetic, leaving a mineral tinge that adds a lovely punctuation.

Aromas of violet, iris, baking spice and woodland berries form the enticing nose. It’s full-bodied and firmly structured, featuring crushed raspberry, ripe Morello cherry, licorice and tobacco alongside tightly knit, close-grained tannins and surprising acidity for the scorching vintage. Drink 2025-2032. R19-2

Dense, dark and brooding in the glass, the Velvet Glove Shiraz is complex and sumptuous. Black plum, blueberries and roasted coffee intermingle with anise in its lifted fragrance. A supremely smooth molten chocolate mouthfeel accentuates the precise balance of infinitely complex structure, expressing deep flavors of berries, whilst licorice and allspice linger on the palate.

  • Morlet 2018 Mon Chevalier Cabernet Sauvignon

    $169.99

    Knights Valley Sonoma County California
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier comes from the Knights Valley, just north of Napa Valley in the larger Sonoma County, and it always seems to me to have one foot in Napa and one foot in Sonoma. Boasting a similar ruby/purple color (as do all of the releases here), it’s slightly more reserved and stately (knightly, if you will), with building aromas and flavors of blackcurrants, toasted bread, dried violets, baking spices, and loamy earth. These carry to a pure, full-bodied, multi-dimensional Cabernet that’s flawlessly balanced, has ripe yet certainly present tannins, a notable sense of minerality, and a great, great finish. It’s just another incredible wine from Luc Morlet that can be drunk today with ample pleasure or cellared for 20-30 years if, for some reason, you feel the need to delay gratification. SP25-6

  • Muga 2019 Torre Muga Rioja

    $119.99$630.00

    Spain
    Jeb Dunnuck 98+ Rating
The 2019 Torre Muga is always a more powerful, ripe expression of Rioja that never loses its sense of place. Deep ruby/purple, with a glorious bouquet of cassis, graphite, tobacco leaf, chocolate, and crushed stone, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a deep, pure, multi-dimensional texture, building tannins, and good acidity. It's young, unevolved, yet oh, so promising. Hide bottles for 7-8 years if you can, and it will cruise for 20-30 years. The blend is 80% Tempranillo and the balance Mazuelo and Graciano, aged 18 months in French oak. Drink: 2029-2060.

  • Muga Prado Enea 2014 Grand Reserva

    $89.99

    Rioja Spain
    James Suckling 97 Rating
Really beautiful aromas of crushed blackberry, brambleberry, hazelnut, walnut and light coffee, following through to a full yet so reserved and polished body with fine, creamy-textured tannins. Fresh and exquisite finish. This is a much more refined and harmonic rendition of their classic wine. Three years in French oak from their own production. Very enjoyable now, but this will improve with age for a long time. R41-5
