Mount Peak Winery 2015 Gravity Red Blend
$39.99 – $443.88North Coast California
Wine Advocate 91 Rating
Mainly Petite Sirah blended with Sangiovese, the 2015 Proprietary Red Blend Gravity is deep garnet-purple colored with profound crushed black and red currants notes over chocolate box, beef drippings and scorched earth with touches of dried herbs and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, it's very firm and chewy with lovely lift and a long, earthy finish. JB

Chateau de L’Ou 2020 Secret de Schistes
$39.99 – $198.00Cotes Catalanes France
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
A big, meaty, mineral-laced Syrah, the dense purple-hued 2020 Cotes Catalanes Secret De Schistes offers up a great nose of blackberries, roasted herbs, chocolate, and graphite that develops more meaty and leather notes with time in the glass. Full-bodied, concentrated, and rich, it hits the palate with a soft, supple, seamless mouthfeel, impressive tannins, and a great finish.

Always a good value, the 2018 Todos checks in as a kitchen sink blend of 45% Syrah, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot, 9% Petite Sirah, and the rest Merlot and other miscellaneous varieties. Its inky, glass-staining purple color is followed by a beautiful bouquet of smoked black fruits, bouquet garni, peppered meat, and hints of crushed rock. It’s rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and just a gorgeous wine. SP27-10 -

Foxen 2018 Block UU Bien Nacido Chardonnay
$39.99 – $336.00Santa Maria Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
Moving to the two Chardonnays, the 2018 Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard Block UU sports a light gold color as well as a pure, crystalline bouquet of honeyed apple, pineapple, citrus blossom, spice, and white flower. It has a kiss of background oak, but it’s beautifully integrated, and the fruit is front and center. With good acidity, a balanced, layered texture, and a great finish, it’s already drinking nicely yet should keep for 7-8 years, if you’re so inclined.

Juicy and delicious, this opens with aromas of iris, rose, dried aromatic herbs and wild berries. Smooth and medium-bodied, the palate features succulent Marasca cherry, ripe raspberry, ground clove and crushed mint set against taut, finegrained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced.
