Guigal 2019 Gigondas
$39.99 – $198.00Southern Rhone Valley France
Wine Spectator 91 Rating
Understated style, with light incense and worn cedar notes running along the edges of the slightly dried currant, raspberry and red cherry fruit flavors. The cedary edge lingers longest in the end. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2023 through 2030.

Domaine de la Chapelle 2022 Pouilly-Fuisse Vieilles Vignes
$39.99 – $210.00Burgundy France
Vinous 93 Rating
The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Vielles Vignes, taken as a barrel sample, has a backward nose at the moment that was difficult to read. However, the palate is vibrant and slightly viscous in texture, with another impressive bead of acidity that foments tension. Of course, it’s very primal at the moment, but there is a dab of licorice emerging on the finish that I find intriguing. Look out for this.

The Prisoner Wine Company 2022 The Prisoner
$39.99 – $420.00Napa Valley California
The Prisoner Red Blend was inspired by the wines first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. The Prisoner is now the most recognized red blend, leading the resurgence of interesting blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Charbono. Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut give way to flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla, which linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.

Domaine Faiveley 2020 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes
$39.99 – $222.00Burgundy France
Wine Advocate 90 Rating
The 2020 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, loamy soil, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a deep, layered core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids, it's a touch more muscular than the 2019 rendition.

Spice-driven dark berry, cherry, peony and licorice aromas are sharpened by a zesty mineral flourish. Fleshy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors turn sweeter with air and pick up a smoky nuance on the back half. Shows fine definition and energy and finishes spicy and quite long, displaying gently chewy tannins and a resonating floral quality.

Chateau Coutet 2017 Barsac 375 ml
$39.99Sauternes Bordeaux France
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
Another rocking sweet wine is the 2017 Château Coutet. This big, full-bodied, opulent beauty has serious notes of orange blossom, buttered citrus, and honey, yet also shows the more pure, precise, and elegant style of the vintage on the palate. The cool, overcast summer allowed good ripeness while preserving the purity of fruit and the whites (and dessert wines) from this vintage are beautiful! -

Monte Rossa Spumante Franciacorta Brut PR is born in the vineyards located on the morainic hills of the municipalities of Bornato and Cellatica, in the heart of the Franciacorta DOCG. It is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, harvested only by hand. Fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Subsequently the wine ages in bottle for about 24 months on the lees before being released on the market. This Brut PR is characterized by a straw yellow color. The nose opens with hints of pineapple, peach and citrus, enriched with pleasant notes of biscuits and dried fruit. On the palate it is soft and fresh, with a pleasant effervescence.
