The Cougar Ridge Vineyard, located on Stonestreet’s rugged and wild Alexander Mountain Estate, was selected as the primary source of our Sonoma County Chardonnay due to its incredible range of soils, elevations, and aspects. The vines snake their way around terraced blocks, rising 650 feet above the valley below. The variability of flavors and maturity around these terraced blocks provide a broad spectrum of bright flavors and a backbone of minerality that shines through the bright finish. With just a splash of the floral 809 clone from Matanzas Creek Vineyard in Bennett Valley, the Sonoma County Chardonnay offers plenty of bright, juicy fruit with old-world finesse and minerality. Our team is thrilled to be able to produce a Chardonnay from these gorgeous vineyards in our own backyard.

Boasting six centuries of grape growing, the Cafaggio estate has passed through numerous ownerships. The latest, as of 2016, is Italian financial company, ISA, who have kept on renowned enologist Attilio Pagli who has been consulting here since 2005. Recent tastings confirm the positive direction, including this 2019 Riserva. It is so classically Panzano, with deep cherry, earthy forest undergrowth and sunbaked stone. The structure is confidently commanding yet balanced, the restrained wood well integrated. Full yet refreshing, this won’t last long at the dinner table.

Abbazia di Novacella 2024 Kerner

There’s so much history in this bottle it would drain the ink of 100 pens to write it all down. Besides being one of Italy’s most beautiful wineries, with its backdrop against the Dolomites, it is also one of the oldest (2nd oldest, actually), founded in 1142 by Augustinian monks. Kerner, by contrast, is a regular arriviste, having been created by August Herald only in 1929. A cross between Riesling and the light red grape Schiava, it found a natural home in the cool alpine climate of the Alto Adige. The valleys here were carved by ancient glaciers, so the vineyards are steep, producing fresh, aromatic wines. Like this Kerner, which is layered with ripe apple, white peach, honeysuckle, and almonds. It’s rich, yet invigorating, and incredibly versatile at the table. 100% Kerner from gravelly marine soils planted at 600-750m in elevation. Vinified in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts, then aged 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
