Notes of smoke and spice mingle into honeysuckle and lychee in this perfumed, fruity white. The palate is opulent and creamy, packed with white peach, lychee and apricot flavors. It is freshened by a lingering mineral crush and hints of fresh herb and leaf. Enjoy this complex, hedonistic wine now through 2030. R38-3 -
Delas Freres 2010 La Landonne Côte Rôtie
$224.99Northern Rhone Valley France
Wine Advocate 98 Rating
Up with some of the greatest Cote Roties out there is Delas's 2010 Cote Rotie la Landonne. Revealing an inky purple color as well as an incredible perfume of spring flowers, violets, black raspberries, graphite and Asian spice, it has drop-dead gorgeous purity, full-bodied richness and a seamless, layered texture that fails to completely cover the wine's underlying tannic grip. Made from 100% Syrah and aged 16 months in new French oak, hide bottles in the cellar for another 4-5 years and enjoy them over the following three decades. SP35-4 -
Denner Vineyards 2018 Dirt Worshipper
$79.99Central Coast California
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The 2018 Dirt Worshipper Syrah, blended with a 1% splash each of Roussanne and Viognier, is a stunning Syrah, with an opaque ruby-purple color and a powerhouse nose that's fierce and wild: iron, black licorice, tar, chargrill and coffee emerge along with sparks of white pepper and intense cassis-like fruit. The palate is incredible, exploding with flavor but grounded with round, plush tannins and loads of juicy uplift that carries the long finish. It evolved over many days after the cork was popped, which suggests it will age gracefully in the cellar over the next 15+ years. 1,298 cases produced. SP15-1 -
Denner Vineyards 2021 Dirt Worshipper Syrah
Price range: $79.99 through $450.00Paso Robles California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
A more Syrah-dominated release, the 2021 Dirt Worshipper is textbook Syrah magic with is peppery, gamey dark fruits, iron, tapenade, sandalwood, and violet-laced aromas and flavors. It’s rich, medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. Based on 88% Syrah, 7% Petit Verdot, 4% Graciano, and 1% Viognier that was fermented with 40% whole clusters and aged 20 months in 25% new French and Hungarian oak, it will probably merit a triple-digit rating in 4-5 years, and I’d be happy to put this up with the best Syrah’s out there. Devil Proof 2021 Cima Ladera Red Blend Farrow Ranch
$249.99Alexander Valley Sonoma County California
Wine Advocate 98 Rating
The 2021 Farrow Ranch Cima Ladera is a brand-new wine from Devil Proof. It comes from vines planted in 1989 at Farrow Ranch in Alexander Valley, which winemaker Jesse Katz acquired in 2021. “I’ve been trying to get into this vineyard block for years,” he exclaims. “I had to purchase the vineyard to get it!” It’s a blend of 65% Malbec and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and was matured for 22 months in 90% new French oak. It has ringing scents of maraschino cherries and blueberries with accents of bitter chocolate, spearmint, vanilla, lilac and aniseed, offering up new nuances with each return to the glass. The full-bodied palate is lovely! It balances tremendously concentrated flavors with bright acidity and velvety tannins, and it has a very long finish with a fan of spicy accents. This is fantastically expressive and so singular! Only 580 cases were made. SP29-3 -
Domain Jean Francois 2021 Pinot Noir The Twelve Rows from Sanford & Benedict Vineyard
$99.99Santa Rita Hills California
Vinous 97 Rating
The 2021 Pinot Noir Sanford and Benedict Vineyard The Twelve Rows is seriously impressive. A wine of stature and pedigree, the 2021 exudes depth in its dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and mocha. The Twelve Rows is sourced from the far eastern portion of Block 6. It sees a bit more stem inclusion in vinification, longer aging with no SO2 and more time in wood than the Sanford Pinots. All this marvelous, complex Pinot needs is time.

Domaine Aurelien Verdet 2019 Hautes Cotes de Nuits Le Prieure
$49.99Côte-de-Nuits Burgundy France
Wine Advocate 92 Rating
Bursting from the glass with notes of sweet berries, petals, peonies and raw cocoa, the 2019 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Le Prieuré is medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and a succulent, spice-inflected finish. Deeper than the 2017 and more elegant than the 2018, this gets my nod as the finest Le Prieuré of the three. SP1-1 -
