Duckhorn Vineyards 2019 Merlot Three Palms Vineyard 1.5 Lt
$229.99 – $1,230.00Napa Valley California
James Suckling 95 Rating
I like the savory nose here, with notes of coffee, spiced plum, overturned earth and bark. Full-bodied with fine, silky tannins. Expressive, but focused, with really clean and clear dark fruit blending nicely with ground spice and grilled herbs. Totally delicious. This will age very nicely.

The 2020 Meursault Les Tillets opens with notes of crisp green apple, freshly baked bread, white flowers and crushed mint. Medium-bodied, satiny and elegant, it’s lively and precise, with a pretty core of fruit and a mouthwatering finish. R2-1 -

Chateau Beychevelle 2020 Grand Vin Saint-Julien
$119.99Bordeaux
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
The Grand Vin 2020 Chateau Beychevelle is a tiny selection representing just 55% of the total production of the estate. The blend is 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot which spent 18 months in 70% new French oak, hitting 13.5% natural alcohol. Surpassing both the 2016 and 2018, this inky-hued Saint-Julien offers a round, lush, full-bodied style as well as gorgeous aromatics of black cherries, blueberries, loamy earth, chocolate, and spring flowers. The vintage doesn’t get any sexier, and this has sweet tannins, an opulent mouthfeel, and riveting purity and finesse. While it already offers pleasure, it’s going to benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for 25+. Best After 2027. SP48-6 SPBX-6 -
Remoissenet Pere & Fils 2016 Beaune Teurons Premier Cru
$99.99 – $420.00Burgundy France
Wine & Spirits 93 Rating
This is a domaine parcel at the top of the slope in Beaune. Claudie Jobard farms it using biodynamic practices, then ferments the wine spontaneously in open-top vats and ages it in barrels (50 percent new). It has a lot of substance, a contrast of savory and jammy, of gaminess and brisk, plummy suppleness. The flavors last with intriguing complexity, smoky and heady with spice. It should age with grace, though the wine is approachable now.

The compelling 2019 Barolo Bric dël Fiasc from Paolo Scavino is drop-dead gorgeous. Opening with heady scents of Alpine herb, iris, dark spice and perfumed berry, it showcases the magnificent site, the fantastic vintage and the generational experience of the Scavino family. Stunningly delicious and radiant, it delivers ripe red cherry, raspberry compote, blood orange and licorice set against firm, fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. The nose is rich with cherry and warm spices, and the garnet hue is deep and inviting. The palate reveals a bit more bramble and deep cherry notes as it moves into a voluminous, persistent finish. The tannins are firm but yielding.
