Azienda Agricola 2024 Tornatore Etna Bianco
Price range: $24.99 through $240.00Sicily Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Rating
Pouring a medium yellow hue, the 2024 Etna Bianco is fresh and herbaceous with notes of fennel, fresh sage, pear, green melon, and wet stones. Medium-bodied, it’s produced in stainless steel tank and rests in cement tank right before bottling. It’s approachable, with hints of honeycomb, fresh saltiness, and ripe peachy fruit through the finish. It’s a stellar value with a great sense of place that screams of summer. Drink over the next few years.

Badia a Passignano 2022 Chianti Classico Grand Selezione
Price range: $59.99 through $300.00Tuscany Italy
Vinous 94 Rating
The 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano is dark, pliant and super-expressive. Black cherry, plum, leather, spice and mocha fill out the wine’s broad shoulders nicely. As always, the Badia is defined by its volume, but these days, there is much less oak impact in terms of flavor and tannin profile. Two thousand twenty-two was not the easiest vintage to rein back intensity, but this is a terrific effort just the same. The 2023 was aged mostly in 3HL casks, with some barrique.

The Barbanera Chieteno pays homage to Tuscan traditions. The exceptional talent captivates the connoisseur with its soft and supple texture. Its taste scores with juicy aromas of cherry, forest berry and some vanilla. The balsamic sounds blend perfectly with the vanilla. A true spectacle is also the dense and deep red color, which gently transforms into the violet. A unique taste experience awaits you.

Bertani 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG
$149.99Veneto Italy
James Suckling 100 Rating
A vivid ruby color with a garnet tinge and super-restrained nose of licorice, oak bark, smoke, wood, cigar box, leather, dark chocolate, crushed violets and prunes. Freshness and subtlety. Full-bodied and elegant on the palate due to ripe, filigree tannins with long acidity and a toasty, savory aftertaste. One of the great Amarones. Corvina and Rondinella. Ready to drink now but intended for the long haul. SP42-6 -

Borgogno 2020 Barolo Piedmont Italy
$59.99Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A deeper ruby/red color, the 2020 Barolo comes from the same vineyards as the No Name as well as Annunziata and offers more depth and ripeness, with aromas of black raspberries, candied cherries, preserved flowers, sweet herbs, and mossy earth. It has outstanding ripeness and purity and is long on the palate, with all its components coming together, delivering warmth, structure, and freshness. This is pretty serious wine, one of the best blended wines I’ve tasted in this vintage, and it’s going to be hard to beat. Buy it now. R8-3
