  • Trefethen 2023 Dry Riesling

    $22.99$216.00

    Oak Knoll District Napa Valley
Trefethen Dry Riesling shows cibrant aromas of stone fruit and lemon zest are layered with notes of jasmine and wildflowers. Fresh on the palate, flavors of grapefruit, lime and other citrus lead to a clean and bright finish. The salinity of shellfish, especially oysters, resonates beautifully with the mineral notes in this wine. Winery Chef Chris Kennedy also suggests pairing it with spicy cuisine, including Thai and Indian flavors, as well as stone fruits.

The 2023 Chardonnay Estate is a unicorn wine, with the acids naturally occurring with ease in this cool, long, extended growing season that the wine world is rightfully excited about, producing wines of tremendous elegance and balance, sourced entirely from Monte Bello Estate. The minerality is off the charts, exuberantly defining the wine after a barrel fermentation of nine months on the lees in 85% American and 15% French oak, 15% of it new. Gorgeously lengthy and bright, winemaker John Olney recommends that for primary fruit.

  • Domaine de la Chapelle 2022 Pouilly-Fuisse Vieilles Vignes

    $39.99$210.00

The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Vielles Vignes, taken as a barrel sample, has a backward nose at the moment that was difficult to read. However, the palate is vibrant and slightly viscous in texture, with another impressive bead of acidity that foments tension. Of course, it’s very primal at the moment, but there is a dab of licorice emerging on the finish that I find intriguing. Look out for this.

A killer wine and great value, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature reveals tons of cassis and darker, almost blue fruits intermixed with sappy spring flowers, crushed stone, and lead pencil nuances. Based on 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 7% Malbec, and 2% Merlot, it’s balanced and medium to full-bodied, with beautiful tannins. This is a no-brainer purchase that will drink beautifully for 10-12 years. R25-1

  • Marcarini 2019 Barolo La Serra

    $69.99$360.00

    Piedmont Italy

The moment the cork is pulled, aromas spill out this beautifully crafted Barolo. Notes of wild cherry and macerated raspberry steal the show on the nose but as the wine develops, savory herb and spiced tea notes emerge. The wine dances on the palate with vivid red fruit notes that meld with herbal and woodsy notes finishing with elegant, yet firm tannins and crunch acidity. Built for the cellar. Drink 2026–2045.

  • Chateau de Beaucastel 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes Roussanne

    $199.99

    Southern Rhone Valley France
    Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
Brought up all in new demi-muids and barrels, the 100% Roussanne 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes offers a heavenly bouquet of ripe quince, acacia flowers, toasted almonds, citrus oil, and spice. Ful-bodied, deep, concentrated, and layered, with an unctuous style, this is pure Beaucastel magic. Reminding me of the 2009 (which is drinking brilliantly today), it deserves 2-4 years of bottle age and will absolutely blow you away over the following decade or more. SPBX-6

An impeccably made sparkling wine from this talented winemaker, the 2022 Brut Nature comes all from Mourvèdre, made in the classic méthode champenoise style. Apple and stone fruits, some spice and floral notes, medium body, a juicy, elegant mousse, and a clean, crisp finish all define this sparkler. It’s going to evolve for 4-6 years or so, although I’d give it a year or two and drink up.
