Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard is deep garnet-purple in color, exploding with crème de cassis, blackberry pie and fruitcake notes, plus hints of Chinese five spice and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, rich and plush in the mouth, the generous, spicy black fruits fan out long and layered on the finish.

    Price range: $24.99 through $138.00

    Willamette Valley Oregon
Ahh, the first wine released from a new vintage is always exciting and this year’s Rose is a sheer delight. It’s like smelling a glass that someone thoughtfully pre-filled with tangerine zest and white peach nectar. How considerate! Equally appreciated is the delicate dusting of grated nutmeg and the utterly vibrant palate. I could drink this with most meals, nearly any night of the week. Gina Hennen, Winemaker

The 2016 Bolgheri Superiore Sor Ugo offers thickly extracted aromas of blackberry preserves and cherry confit with smoke, tar and sweet spice. This is a full-bodied red (with 15% alcohol) that wraps thickly over the palate, showing rich density and concentration along the way. Campfire ash and hickory smoke appear on the close. The blend is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot aged in barrique for 18 months. SP44-1

  • Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Lorraine Alban Estate Vineyard

Alban Vineyards 2019 Syrah Lorraine Alban Estate Vineyard

    $199.99

    Edna Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
The 2019 Syrah Lorraine is ultra-classic and is about as textbook an example of this cuvée as I can recall. Black raspberries, cassis, spring flowers, and baking spices all flow to a full-bodied, round, velvety textured, utterly seamless Syrah with ripe tannins, a great mid-palate, and a gorgeous finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s impossible to resist today (and I see no need to delay gratification), yet it will continue to deliver the goods any time over the coming 20-25 years. SP15-6

Moving to the Syrahs, the 2019 Syrah Reva reveals a much cooler climate-like style in its blackberry, graphite, pepper, and bouquet garni-like nuances, and it picks up an almost Cornas-like game and white pepper character with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe yet polished tannins, and a great finish. It reminds me slightly of the 2018, although with slightly less concentration. It will evolve for 20-25 years. SP14-5

“Les Beugnons” is a Premier Cru located on the left bank of the Serein River. The wines from this Climat may also bear the name “Vaillons” which is the name of the flag-bearing Climat they fall under. We have chosen to retain the original name due to the unique typicity of our plot. The very white soil and the extremely favorable exposure of our plot, in an area that is protected by the presence of numerous trees, yield mineral wines with ripe, rich aromas and flavors. “Les Beugnons” remains one of the rarities of Chablis.
