Domaine Camille et Laurent Schaller 2023 Chablis Vieilles Vignes
Price range: $29.99 through $324.00Burgundy France
This cuvée is aged for 10 months, 30% of the wine resting in oak barrels and 70% in stainless steel tanks. This approach differs from the classic Chablis style, which usually matures entirely on steel. The partial ageing in wood gives the wine a fuller structure and subtle woody notes, without losing the lively freshness and minerality so typical of the Chablis terroir. The result is an elegant and gourmet wine, in which the minerality, the expression of the fruit and the gentle influence of the wood are beautifully balanced.

Dominus Estate 2018 Red
$299.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
One of the legendary Dominus, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is unquestionably in the same league as the 2018, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010, and 1991, and to my mind, wine simply doesn’t get any better. Sporting a dense purple hue as well as an incredible perfume of blackcurrants, crushed stone, cedar pencil, smoke tobacco, and baking spices, it s rich, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with ripe yet building tannins. It reminds me slightly of the 2010 (maybe the 2013), and I suspect it will have a similar evolution. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it will evolve gracefully for 30+ years. Hats off to the team of Christian Moueix and director Tod Mostero. SP11-1 -

Castello Banfi 2021 Cum Laude Red Blend
$29.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Spectator 95 Rating
Tightly knit and supple, delivering black currant, blackberry, violet and graphite aromas and flavors. This harmonious red shows a well-integrated structure, with terrific energy and length. Though approachable now, this should really hit its stride in a year or two. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah. R42-3 regular $49.99 -

Beaulieu Vineyard BV 2021 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
$149.99Napa Valley California
Wine Spectator 95 Rating
This is packed with dark, winey flavors of black currant and blackberry paste underscored with alder, sweet tobacco, warm paving stone and black licorice notes, while a violet accent fills the background. The polished finish makes this accessible now, but there’s plenty of life ahead. Drink now through 2042. BX-6 R45-5 -

James Suckling 93 Rating
This has a savory character of cured meat, iron and wet stones, with spices and red berries in the background. The medium- to full-bodied palate is sleek and smoothly integrated, with well-defined yet supple tannins and a fleshy core of red fruit. Bright and juicy. From organically grown grapes. Better from 2027.

Zardetto Prosecco Brut
Price range: $14.99 through $144.00Veneto Italy
Vinous 90 Rating
The graceful NV Brut Prosecco opens with a pretty blend of white smoke and sweet spice, elevating freshly sliced yellow apples. It’s soothingly round and pliant with a creamy bead of bubbles and a slight confectionery undertone as ripe orchard fruits swirl throughout. This leaves the senses completely refreshed, finishing long and pleasantly crisp with a floral resonance that fades slowly.
