El Enemigo Chardonnay is produced in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, at an altitude of 1,470 meters on calcium-rich soils, which contribute to its distinctive saline character and mineral complexity. The wine is crafted by Alejandro Vigil, a renowned winemaker, who employs innovative techniques including fermentation and aging in 500-liter French oak barrels, with 35% new oak, and a veil of flor yeast similar to Fino Sherry, enhancing texture and depth. The grapes are sourced from high-altitude vineyards, giving the wine a crisp acidity and a pure expression of mountain Chardonnay.

Dark amber. Nutty, tangy and fresh on the nose, with exotic aromas of candied orange, toffee, cherry pit and raspberry. Wild, exotic and compelling; a riot of sweet, nutty fruit flavors in conjunction with a viscous texture. The finish is enlivened by refreshing acids. This is really suave.

Chateau Lescalle Bordeaux Superieur
Price range: $19.99 through $192.00Bordeaux France
Share Tweet
Today, the winemaking at Château Lescalle is still done in the classic Médoc style. Vineyard manager Claude Gaudin rigorously follows several basic principles. Extremely dense planting of the vines (up to 5000 vines per hectare) naturally limits the yields and increases the intensity of the fruit. A long maceration ensures full extraction of the fruit flavors and is followed by aging in barriques with a just touch of new oak.

Clos Apalta 2021 Le Petit Clos Red Blend
Price range: $54.99 through $288.00Colchagua Valley Chile
Vinous 96 Rating
Embracing a Bordeaux-style approach, Le Petit Clos is the second wine of Clos Apalta. The 2021 Le Petit Clos combines 68% Carménère, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, all sourced from the Apalta Vineyard in Colchagua. Displaying a purple hue in the glass, it exhibits a ripe character mellowed by the fresh nature of the vintage. It offers plum and blackberry aromas along with bay leaf, boldo and menthol hints over an ashy marmalade core. Indulgent, plush and rich on the palate, the soft and overwhelming mouthfeel lingers long with a precise, juicy and slightly refreshing personality. The 2021 vintage is indeed a standout for Clos Apalta. R14-3
