Bouchard Pere & Fils 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Du Chateau
$49.99 – $240.00Beaune Burgundy France
Wine Advocate 91 Rating
Bursting with aromas of raspberries, sweet spices and deep soil tones, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru du Château is medium-bodied, ample and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and a saline finish. This high-quality, comparatively accessible bottling is always reliable, though I confess I’d love to see some of the great parcels that go into it as standalone cuvées.

Bouchard Père & Fils 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Domaine
$259.99 – $1,410.00Burgundy France
James Suckling 97 Rating
The nose of this very beautiful Corton-Charlemagne transports me to an Alpine meadow, when all the wild flowers are blossoming. I love the restrained, citrusy richness that is effortlessly interwoven with the stony minerality on the medium- to full-bodied palate of this graceful, yet highly-structured wine. Still quite tight at the very salty finish, but so much to give. From a 3.65 hectare plot at the very top of the hill of Corton, directly below the forest with a yellow mark soil. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

Branaire-Ducru 2019 St-Julien
$69.99Bordeaux France
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
The 2019 Branaire-Ducru unwinds in the glass with aromas of raspberries, blackcurrants, sweet soil tones and hints of cigar wrapper, rose petals and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's youthfully tightly wound, with terrific concentration, tangy acids, powdery tannins and a long, saline finish. While this is a little reserved out of the gates, its energy and classical proportions will richly reward bottle age. SPBX-6 -
Brand Winery 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
$249.99Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 96+ Rating
Camphor, cedar, cassis and blackberries all appear on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a massively concentrated yet vibrant offering. It’s full-bodied and intense, velvety and rich, but it shows ample energy and thrust on the finish. If there’s a complaint, it’s that it’s too monolithic, but I’d chalk that up to its youth at this stage and expect it to gain complexity as it ages for two decades or more. R37-3 -
Brewer-Clifton 2018 Chardonnay 3D
$79.99Santa Rita Hills California
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Rating
My favorite of the Chardonnay releases is the 2018 Chardonnay 3D, and this beauty has everything you could want from a Sta. Rita Hills release. Medium gold-hued, with a stunning nose of stone fruits, white currants, crushed stone, toasted bread, and a hints of green almonds, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a seamless, elegant texture, flawless balance, and a great, great finish. It's one of the finest Chardonnays in this report. SPA3-6 -

Broadside 2022 Blackletter Cabernet Sauvignon
$29.99 – $150.00Paso Robles California
Wine Enthusiast 93 Rating
This bottling by Adam LaZarre covers a lot of Paso Cab expectations. Rich aromas of berry and plum are laced in cedar and sandalwood on the layered nose. The palate is dense yet fresh with berry and spice flavors that are framed by chalky tannins.

Buoncristiani 2017 O.P.C. Red Blend
$69.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The 2017 Red Blend O.P.C. checks in as a blend of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Syrah, 20% Malbec, 12% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot brought up in 60% new French oak. It has a complex, nuanced style in its mulled plums, black tea, peppery herbs, and orange blossom aroma and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, rich and beautifully textured on the palate, with ripe, mouthcoating tannins, it's another terrific 2017 from this team that will evolve for a solid 10-15 years, that is, if you can keep your hands off bottles.
