Adriano Marco e Vittorio 2018 Basarin Barbaresco
$34.99 – $312.00Piedmont Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 91 Rating
Fresh and lifted, the 2018 Barbaresco Basarin is forward with notes of dusty earth, anise, and dried apricot. The palate is medium-bodied and reveals notes of blood orange, dried raspberry, and tea leaf. Another finessed and approachable wine from the Adriano estate’s 2018s, it can be enjoyed now or over the next 10-11 years. Drink 2021-2032.

Highly bred, subtle, yet rich in nuance, this fresh and youthful Chevalier de la Cree Knights Templar Cuvee Montagny Blanc Premier Cru Chardonnay reveals aromas of golden apple, fresh almonds, fern and a touch of citrus. The lively, almost frisky palate is surprisingly rich, with alluringly spicy back-flavors that shine through. For the money one of the Best Pinots I’ve tasted this year. It’s bouquet of black raspberries, violets, strawberries and spices are Killer! This Pinot offers a huge concentration of flavor on the palate while being elegant at the same time. It has an immediate gratification style without cellaring. Enjoy!

Intense color, ranging from ruby to garnet. Black fruit notes with cassis and blackberry, followed by empyreumatic fragrances that vary between vanilla and roasting. The young reds are full-bodied, marked by a hint of oak and hints of sweet spices. After a few years of aging, the tannins melt.

Château Tournefeuille 2020 Red Blend
$34.99 – $324.00Lalande-de-Pomerol Bordeaux France
Decanter Magazine 92 Rating
This is a good Lalande de Pomerol, there are big tannins as you find in many wines in this region in 2020, but this has real juice and precision behind it, and is an excellent wine. Expect bitter chocolate and espresso shots on the finish but backed up by bilberry and cassis.

The wine has all of the characteristics of classic Napa Valley Cabernet with powerful blackberry and black cherry aromas combined with cacao, tobacco and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is delicate and smooth yet uniquely fresh and bright. This wine is tasting beautifully upon release but will continue to evolve and be a joy to drink over the next 5-10 years.

Shaw & Smith 2020 M3 Chardonnay

Ripe peach, lemon and plenty of toasted hazelnut oak, sitting on a mix of flint and wet stones. The palate has great density and depth with concentrated peach and lemon. A little pastry, too. Smooth, with bright acidity. Impressive depth and balance here. Drink or hold..

Shaw & Smith 2019 Shiraz
$34.99 – $180.00Adelaide Hills South Australia
James Suckling 95 Rating
A super-ripe dark-plum and blackberry nose with pepper and spice aromas, together with some smoky and graphite-like elements. Plenty of complexity. So fleshy and deep with a smooth tannin texture and dark plums and blackberries sitting fresh into the finish. Rich, sweet red-fruit tones to close. Drink over the next eight years.
