The 2021 cleans up beautifully, with tart blackberry and black cherry mingling as residual acids. Gentle tannins underscore licorice hints. L’Ange Rouge is a blend of 64% Grenache, 24% Syrah and 12% Mourvedre.

It has outstanding ripeness and purity and is long on the palate, with all its components coming together, delivering warmth, structure, and freshness. This is pretty serious wine, one of the best blended wines I’ve tasted in this vintage, and it’s going to be hard to beat. Buy it now. R21-6

Finishes on a repeating floral note, showing excellent clarity and polished tannins. Giraud’s entry-level bottling has been going from strength to strength in recent vintages.
