Trimbach 2018 Gewurztraminer
Price range: $29.99 through $156.00Alsace France
Wine Enthusiast 92 Rating
Both flinty reduction and rose notes play on the nose. The palate comes in with concentration and a pithy, phenolic texture that lends structure and backbone to this rich, rounded, almost oily but dry wine. Pleasant citrus-pith bitterness sits well with the bold, warm but dry generosity. It’s best to let this come into its own. Drink 2025–2035.

Trimbach 2022 Pinot Blanc
Price range: $19.99 through $102.00Alsace France
Natalie MacLean 91 Rating
Trimbach 2022 Pinot Blanc is a dry, full-bodied Alsatian white wine from Maison Trimbach, who have been growing grapes in Alsace since 1626. Love the vibrant and fresh nose of melon, fresh almond and white-fleshed stone fruit with a creamy and lingering white pepper spice finish on the palate. Very nicely done!

Tua Rita 2023 Giusto di Notri
Price range: $99.99 through $480.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
With a history spanning more than 30 vintages, the Tua Rita 2023 Giusto di Notri is composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and remains one of the estate’s defining wines. The 2023 vintage benefited from relatively cool soils thanks to rain showers that preserved fresh acidity. The style emphasizes verticality and finesse, achieved through an infusion-like approach during fermentation in which berries are gently broken to increase skin contact without aggressive extraction, taking advantage of naturally soft skins. Pump-overs were limited to one or two per day, prioritizing delicacy over power. The result is a refined and expressive wine with lifted freshness and a graceful character.

Turley 2014 Petite Sirah Library Vineyard Napa Valley
$99.99California
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
Noticeably floral with blueberries and blackberries is the 2014 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard, from a site adjacent to the Hayne Vineyard on the back streets of St. Helena. Again, this has civilized tannins that are silky and well-integrated, followed by a wine with an enormous wealth of fruit, lavish concentration, and extravagant texture and richness. It is always hard to peg when these will hit full maturity, but this one has a good 5-10 years of development and should keep for three decades as well. SP19-1 -
Turley 2016 Petite Sirah Hayne Vineyard Napa Valley
$114.99California
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
he 2016 Petite Syrah Hayne Vineyard is the most perfumed and elegant of Turley’s Petite Syrahs (they don’t spell it “Sirah”) this year, unfurling in the glass with a pure and fragrant bouquet of cassis, dark plums, rose petals and pencil lead. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with a deep core of vibrant, juicy fruit, satiny but abundant tannins and a long finish. It’s an exceptional wine from a singular vineyard. SP15-1 -
Turley 2016 Petite Sirah Pesenti Vineyard Paso Robles
$89.99California
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
Generous and dramatic, the 2016 Petite Syrah Pesenti Vineyard is quite different in profile from Turley's Petite Syrahs (they don't spell it “Sirah”) from the North Coast, bursting from the glass with a rich bouquet of balsamic cherry, dark fruit compote and grilled meat. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, lavish and expansive, with plush but abundant tannins, juicy acids and an ample core of fruit. SP15-2
