Saint Cosme 2018 Gigondas
$49.99Southern Rhone Valley France
Wine Advocate 93 Rating
Saint Cosme's 2018 Gigondas is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 14% Syrah and 1% Cinsault, aged in a combination of new and used oak, with 30% of the volume matured in concrete. Full-bodied and generous, it's round and supple, with no hard edges to hamper the easy flow of asphalt, red raspberries and black cherries across the palate. Boasting ample but not excessive concentration, it's a lovely, seductive example of Gigondas to enjoy over the next decade or so. SP38-12 -

Saint Damien 2020 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes
$29.99Southern Rhone Valley France
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
Lastly, the 2020 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes is straight-up classic Gigondas with its darker berry fruits, leather, peppery garrigue, and roasted herb-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, balanced, and elegant, it doesn't have the density of the two single vineyard releases but shows the pretty, elegant, classic style of the vintage beautifully. It will last for 10-15 years. Best After 2023. -

The 2020 Gigondas Les Souteyrades is also utterly brilliant. Giving up lots of kirsch liqueur, orange blossom, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence-like aromatics, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and a layered, seamless, elegant mouthfeel that has awesome tannins as well as purity of fruit. It's another sensational Gigondas to enjoy over the coming two decades. Best After 2023. R28-3 -
