Silver Oak 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
$134.99California
James Suckling 96 Rating
This is a big upgrade in finesse and clarity to such a popular, premium cabernet from Napa. It shows lots of blackberry, tar, cedar and oak-tree aromas that follow through to a full yet toned palate of fine, integrated tannins and a vivid finish. Owner David Duncan explained that the American oak they use in the wine for aging now comes 100% from their own barrel-making facilities, which tones down the vanilla character in the wine. Really impressive and delicious. It’s a joy to drink now, but can age. SP30-2 -

Silver Oak 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
$139.99California
James Suckling 95 Rating
So elegant, supple and silky, this vintage is a dream to drink now, but should also have plenty of life ahead of it. Aromas of blueberries and dark chocolate meld with luxe black fruit, mint and cocoa on the palate. A blend of 77% cabernet sauvignon, 18% merlot and dashes of cabernet franc and petit verdot. R4-1 -
Silverado 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
$49.99 – $516.00Napa Valley California
Tasting Panel 94 Rating
With some Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc blended in, this standup Cabernet Sauvignon aged 17 months in primarily French oak, seeing some Hungarian and American oak as well. Sourced from the winery’s estate vineyards (Mt. George, Silverado, and Oakville Station), the fruit yielded tight-fisted tannins of coffee and plum skin that hold this superbly structured, concentrated, and elegant red together. Chewy, with earthy undertones and depth defined by dark chocolate and black olive.

Beverage Testing Institute 88 Rating
Deep purple color. Aromas and flavors of plum butter, nutmeg, spiced raisins, molasses, and earl grey tea with a satiny, vibrant, fruity light-to-medium body and a smooth, stimulating, medium-length finish with moderate oak flavor. A solid Sonoma Cabernet that checks all the boxes. -
Simonnet-Febvre 2019 Chablis Vaillons
$49.99 – $480.00Burgundy France
Wine Enthusiast 94 Rating
Whiffs of yeast and sun-dried hay mingle into pert yellow cherry and greengage plum in this full-bodied but sharply honed Chablis. Pristine in fruit profile and bracing with acidity, it’s a cool-toned, classically styled Chablis despite the hot vintage. Elegant in youth, it will likely improve through 2035.

This sparkling wine is the only one made in the Chablis region. That's a shame, because with its great toasty character, crisp yellow fruit flavors and its beautifully delicate mousse, there should be more like it in Chablis.
