The 2021 Greppicaia includes a hefty dose of Petit Verdot, which lends richness and spice to the mix. Bold aromas of fresh red berries and some dried cherry introduce an intense and concentrated palate where the wood is currently in the front seat and the tannins have an overt, powdery texture. Creamy and peppery, there is nevertheless some succulent fruit lurking in the background and with time will emerge – the potential is certainly there in its long, fresh character and poised posture.
