K Vintners 2022 Syrah M.C.K. Motor City Kitty
$38.99Yakima Valley Washington State
James Suckling 98 Rating
This is an extremely complex, smoky, terroir-driven syrah that offers crushed wild berries and plum skins layered with hints of white pepper and cured meat. Broad, mouth-filling and full-bodied, it has a mineral, peppery edge and dusty, very fine tannins. Long and persistent, showing hints of crushed herbs and ashy soil in the end. Drink or hold. -

DeLille Cellars 2019 Chaleur Blanc
$34.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
One of the best Bordeaux Blanc blends coming out of Washington, the 2019 Chaleur Blanc checks in as 69% Sauvignon Blanc and 31% Semillon that was barrel fermented and aged in 60% new oak. Honeyed grapefruit, white flowers, sappy, green herbs, and a kiss of minerality all define the bouquet, and this beauty is medium-bodied, with a beautifully balanced, concentrated mouthfeel and a great finish. It ranks with the top examples of this cuvée I've tasted. R21-1 -

Domaine de La Charbonnière 2015 Vacqueyras Cuvée Spéciale
$34.99Southern Rhone Valley France
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The 2015 Vacqueyras Cuvée Spéciale is another blockbuster. Made from 100% Grenache that was 70% destemmed and aged in oak tanks, it offers terrific notes of kirsch, dried herbs, ground pepper and loads of loamy soil/sandy aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and with beautiful tannin quality, drink it anytime over the coming decade. SP36-1 -

Zuccardi 2017 Malbec Concreto
$34.99Mendoza Argentina
James Suckling 96 Rating
This is a unique wine for Mendoza with a cool-fruit and serious slate character. Undertones of dried herbs and bark. Full body, integrated fruit and tannins. Wet earth, too. Reminds me of the reds in Spain's Galicia, but so new in Argentina. Drink now but better in 2020. SP40-3 -

St. Innocent 2018 Freedom Hill Chardonnay
$32.99Willamette Valley Oregon
James Suckling 92 Rating
Aromas of thyme, peach and lemon curd. Medium-to full-bodied with zesty acidity and drive. Very bright. Refreshing finish. Light phenolic texture pulls it forward. Drink now. -

Castello Banfi 2021 Cum Laude Red Blend
$29.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Spectator 95 Rating
Tightly knit and supple, delivering black currant, blackberry, violet and graphite aromas and flavors. This harmonious red shows a well-integrated structure, with terrific energy and length. Though approachable now, this should really hit its stride in a year or two. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah. R42-3 regular $49.99 -

Etneide 2022 Etna Bianco
$29.99Mount Etna Sicily
Enjoyabilityfactor 93 Rating
Straw yellow color with bright golden reflections. Hints of jasmine flowers, white-fleshed fruit like peach and sbergia (typical Sicilian variety of nectarine peach) and intense minerality (typical of the volcanic area). Each sip gives sense of freshness and youth. Fresh wine characterized by the presence of golden shades, it is produced with Carricante and Catarratto grapes. It has a delicate taste synonymous of its youth. regular $37.99 -

Cellar Selection
This dark violet colored wine has a bouquet of black currant, dark chocolate and juniper berry. A framework of opulent tannins plays host to flavors of blackberry, dark plums, bittersweet chocolate, rose petal and eucalyptus that evaporate into an enduring chocolate-scented finish. Drink through 2035. SP35-6 -

Gust 2019 Syrah Petaluma Gap
$29.99Sonoma California
Wine Enthusiast 95 Rating
Effusive aromas of black figs, toasted oak, espresso beans and turned earth lead to dense, layered flavors of blackberries, wood smoke, black pepper and star anise. This is a fascinating, complex and rather tannic wine that’s sure to keep improving with time. Best 2027–2037. SP12-6
