    $29.99$288.00

    Mendoza Argentina
    James Suckling 93 Rating
A deep, stony, mineral bonarda with red cherries, blue fruit, graphite and some grilled herbs. Tight and juicy on the palate with firm but resolved tannins and a long, linear finish. Lovely austerity here. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Albariño is from granite soils in the Salnés Valley. It shows varietal character, freshly cut grass, white flowers and fruit and the roundness of the year, with 13.5% alcohol and balancing acidity. This is bottled after four to five months with lees. It has the Señorans signature.

This red opens with reticent jammy aromas that expand to include licorice and asphalt notes. The wine is so saturated that it weighs down on the palate. Flavors of savory berry fruits are matched by saucy tomato and spice notes. On a sinewy finish, tomato sauce, raspberry and red-plum flavors stick out. Drink through 2026. MT

  • Marchesi Antinori 2021 Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico Grand Selezione

    $55.99$282.00

    Tuscany Italy
    Vinous 95 Rating
The 2021 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano is one of the best editions of this wine I have ever tasted. Ripe, blue-toned fruit, spice, chocolate, leather and licorice fill out the layers in an ample, full-bodied Gran Selezione. Here, too, changes in vinification and aging yielded a wine that marries refinement with textural resonance. Superb.

The nose opens to reveal scents of sweet plums, roses, and violets with a hint of iron. On the palate, delicate wild berry and subtle spice notes are framed by supple tannins. Elegant and refreshing with plenty of length, this classic Chorey will be delicious over the next few years.

    Wine Spectator 92 Rating
Bright black cherry, plum, earth, vanilla and toasty oak flavors are the hallmarks of this well-crafted red. Balanced, this needs a year or two to integrate more fully and extend the finish. Firm grip. Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo and Merlot. Best from 2021 through 2033.

This shows good concentration and richness, with red and dark berries and subtle notes of walnuts and mushrooms. Medium- to full-bodied with compact, rather supple tannins that are quite ripe. Structured and nicely framed with a lingering finish.

  • Staglin Family Vineyard Estate 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $279.99

    Rutherford Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
I continue to simply love the 2016s, which come close to rivaling the 2013s, albeit with a more elegant character. Another pure class release from this great estate, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend that includes small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all aged 20 months in mostly new French oak. Its deep purple/plum color is followed by classic Rutherford notes of blackcurrants, cedar pencil, chocolaty herbs, licorice, and hints of truffle. It's beautifully balanced, full-bodied, and seamless on the palate, and while it's less overt and sexy than the 2015, it shows the class, balance, purity, and length that makes 2016 such a special vintage. It offers pleasure today and will offer pleasure in another 20-25 years. SP23-2
