Cordero di Montezemolo 2022 Arneis Langhe
$23.99 – $216.00Piedmont Italy
Wine Advocate 90 Rating
Packaged in its powdery blue label (a color that magically triggers a yearning for a white wine, in my opinion), the Cordero di Montezemolo 2022 Langhe Arneis is all about brightness and freshness. Seeing stainless steel only, the wine is true to the Arneis grape with a waxy texture and fragrant tones of white rose, pear, quince and papaya. There are nuances of crushed limestone as well.

Chateau Vitallis 2022 Pouilly-Fuisse
$29.99 – $312.00Maconnais Burgundy France
With bright apple and citrus notes, the long creamy finish and gorgeous minerality reveal the true white Burgundy pedigree of this wine. Coming from older vineyard directly across the 13th-century ancestral Chateau. There’s plenty of mouthwatering white peach, lemon, and white flowers, with an alluring combination of freshness and rich creamy texture, culminating in a lengthy finish.

Epoch Estate Wines 2016 Authenticity Red
$79.99Paso Robles California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
The 2016 Authenticity checks in as 89% Syrah and 11% Mourvèdre that spent 19 months in 70% new French oak. It's always the most powerful, opulent wine in the lineup, and the 2016 is no exception, revealing a deep purple/blue color as well as a heavenly bouquet of black and blue fruits, crushed violets, graphite, liquid rocks, and chocolate. With full-bodied richness, a building sense of meatiness, ample tannins, and a huge finish, it's another magical wine from this estate that needs to be tasted to be believed. SP26-5 -
Tensley 2016 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard
$69.99Santa Barbara County California
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
From the estate vineyard located high up in the hills above Los Olivos, the 2016 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard has an exotic, beautifully pure bouquet of blueberries, wild strawberries, crushed violets, menthol, and cracked pepper. One of the more pure, elegant and ethereal examples of this Syrah I can recall, it's a sensational, incredibly compelling, weightless beauty that does everything right. It too can shine today yet has the capacity to age gracefully for 10-15 years. SP19-2 -
Stolpman Vineyards 2017 Estate Grown Hilltops Syrah
$49.99Ballard Canyon Santa Barbara County
Antonio Galloni 93 Rating
The 2017 Syrah Estate Grown is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, floral and wonderfully perfumed, the Estate expresses all the best vintage had to offer. Sweet floral, spice and dried herbs are beautifully laced into a core of dark Syrah. Not only is the Estate a terrific example of the year, it also captures the interplay of rich fruit and more savory notes that is so typical of the best Ballard Canyon Syrahs. The 2017 is simply compelling. That's all there is to it. SP20-5 -

Opaque ruby. Floral aromas of black raspberry and cherry pit, with complicating spicecake and mineral nuances. Round and fleshy on entry, then more energetic in the mid-palate, offering vibrant red and dark berry flavors with no rough edges. This seamless, sweet blend finishes with excellent vivacity and terrific length. SP20-2 -

Nice herbs, olives with a hint of savory anchovies, blackcurrants and tobacco to the nose. Juicy and bright with fine, present tannins on a medium- to full-bodied palate. Nicely flattering and fruit-forward, too.

Gramercy Cellars 2015 Syrah Lagniappe
$69.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Always one of my favorite releases from this estate, the 2015 Syrah Lagniappe is 100% Syrah (mostly from the Red Willow Vineyard in Yakima, with 5% from the Forgotten Hills Vineyard just south of Walla Walla). Deep ruby/plum-colored and loaded with Côte Rôtie-like (Côte Blonde?) notes of black raspberries, crushed flowers, tapenade, and crushed flowers, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, seamless, and silky on the palate, with incredible finesse and elegance. It's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and knock your socks off over the following decade or more. It’s unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage. R16-1 SP19-2
