Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
The second wine of Château Lascombes, the 2022 Chevalier de Lascombes is beautifully textured and medium-bodied, offering bright cassis and darker, almost blue fruits, alongside spicy floral nuances. It has an elegant mouthfeel and a great finish. Aged in oak barrels, this should evolve well for 10-15 years.

Jeb Dunnuck 90 Rating
From the team at Ausone, the 2016 Château Simard is made from 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc brought up in just 30% new French oak. It’s a medium-bodied, classic, nicely balanced Saint-Emilion that has loads of upfront charm. Col d’Orcia 2016 Poggio al Vento Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
$159.99Tuscany Italy
James Suckling 98 Rating
Super classic Brunello from a classic vintage, being released now. The perfume to this is really something, with cherries, flowers, lead pencil and light hints of graphite. Then it moves to raspberries and black cherries with some sandalwood shavings. You just want to smell it. Clear and transparent. Full-bodied with very fine and succinct tannins that fill the mouth and show super tension and form. Extremely long and structured. Beautiful now, but this will age for decades ahead. Drink or hold. -
Col d’Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino
$49.99 – $252.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
The certified organic Col d’Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe fruit, blackberry, earthy notes, licorice and, generally speaking, a much bigger and riper fruit profile compared to its peers. It offers full-bodied Brunello opulence to enjoy over the near or medium term, and the wine delivers dried fruit flavors of prune and fig to close. The tannins are velvety and add to the richness of the rather upfront and immediate mouthfeel.

Collefrisio 2022 Appassimento
$26.99 – $264.00Abruzzi Italy
The successful winemakers of Collefrisio in Abruzzo also offer a beautiful appassimento. The 60% montepulciano and 20% merlot grapes dry on the vine and are only harvested in the second half of October. The ‘normally’ harvested sangiovese adds freshness to the wine and creates a nice balance with the concentrated, dried grapes. Collefrisio’s winemaker Amedeo de Luca dispenses with oak ripening and prefers the concentrated fruit aromas that characterize the appassimento method. The result is a dark-colored red wine that smells beautifully of ripe blackberries and cherries. It also has a great taste thickness with a lot of flexibility.

Colleleva 2022 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi
$13.99 – $144.00Marche Italy
Here is a wine that is screaming value. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi are wines that are perfect for a leisurely glass of wine. The juice comes from 30 years old vines which are established in sandy tufo soils of La Marche, giving the wine more depth than most in its price class. The use of only stainless steel keeps the wine fresh and pure. Very expressive fruit that is juicy and crisp due to a small amount of CO2 left in the bottle.

ColleMassari 2017 Montecucco Rosso Riserva
$24.99Tuscany Italy
Antonio Galloni 93 Rating
Dark and seductive, the 2017 Rosso Riserva Montecucco lulls you in with a bouquet that blends dusty black cherries and red currants with sweet mint leaf and hints of clove. There are depths of soft, fleshy textures within, balanced by brisk acids, masses of tart blackberry fruit and balsam herbal tones. This reverberates with youthful tension, leaving a saturation of primary concentration upon the palate, framed by a coating of grippy tannins. While you can sense the warmth and dry conditions of the vintage here, the 2017 overdelivers, coming across as more immediate than expected, yet balanced enough to excel through short-term cellaring. The Rosso Riserva is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Ciliegiolo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon refined for sixteen months in a combination of forty-hectoliter casks and five-hundred-liter tonneaux. R17-3
