  • Marrone 2023 Langhe Arneis Tre Fie

    $29.99$288.00

    Piedmont Italy
A View from the cellar 93 Rating
The 2023 Arneis “Tre Fie” bottling from the Marrone sisters is a beautiful example of this varietal. The bouquet is bright and complex, wafting from the glass in a mix of fresh lime, green apple, a complex base of stony minerality, a touch of green olive, lemongrass and a topnote of wild flowers. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied, complex and zesty, with an excellent core of fruit, lovely mineral undertow, fine focus and balance and a long, vibrant finish. This is one of the best example of Arneis I have ever tasted! 2025 – 2030

  • Roger Neveu & Fils 2023 Sancerre Cuvee Pierre Francois Xavier

    $34.99$348.00

    Loire Valley France
Assembled in great years from the Neveu family’s best parcels around Verdigny, Chavignol, and Sancerrre, “PFX”—as the “Pierre François Xavier” bottling is affectionately known by the family—is raised in oak rather than stainless steel (the former being the historical norm in Sancerre). The three principal terroirs of Sancerre are incorporated: terres blanches, silex, and caillottes. Caillottes are the small, sharp limestone rocks that litter the surface of many Sancerre vineyards, including the Neveu family’s largest vineyard, “Les Embouffants.” The oak adds a grain and level of class and backbone that raises this cuvée a step above the domaine’s classic Sancerre bottling. PFX ages more slowly and gracefully than most Sancerres, and it makes a great cellar diversification play.

Cherry and blackberry fruit define this linear, fluid red. There’s also a line of sinewy tannins that leaves its mark on the earthy, salty finish. Fine length. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2027 through 2035.

  • Rockpile Winery 2016 Zinfandel Rockpile Ridge Vineyard

    $54.99

    Sonoma County California
    Wine Advocate 94 Rating
“Sixty-five percent of the vines planted in Rockpile are Zinfandel,” says Clay Mauritson. “What’s gotten lost in that narrative is how unbelievable Cabernet Sauvignon is in Rockpile. It has a lot of similarities to places like Napa.” Deep ruby-purple in color, the 2016 Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon Rockpile Ridge Vineyard is blended of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, aged 20 months in French oak. It has a nose with red and black cherries and currants, milk chocolate, star anise, cardamom, cedar and touches of minerals and beef drippings. Medium to full-bodied, it’s very plush and spicy in the mouth with tons of baby fat fruit, segueing to mineral and licorice notions. It has a firm frame of chalky tannins and good freshness to lift the long, layered finish. Leave this in the cellar for another three to five years and drink it over the next 20+. R45-2

    Veneto Italy
    Wine Enthusiast 95 Rating
    A Cellar Selection

Unfolding in a way that captures the attention and imagination at once, this Veneto classic is a wine lover’s must. Opening with aromas of blackberry jam, plum preserves, anise, clove and espresso, it might overwhelm at first but give it a second. The palate is rich and layered with flavors that deserve some time to develop. Black cherries, tobacco, vanilla and spice all swirl on the palate into an elegant and refined finish. Drink Now – 2040 lends nice form. Notes of apple wood, tobacco and savory add nuance through the finish. Best from 2025 through 2038. 1,770 cases made

  • Jean Manciat 2023 Macon-Charny Franclieu

    $17.99$180.00

    Burgundy France
John Gilman View From The Cellar 92+ Rating
The single vineyard bottling of Franclieu from Jean Manciat is his finest terroir, with these thirty to thirty-five year-old vines planted on argilo-calcaire soils. The wine is fermented with native yeasts and raised in stainless steel tanks until bottling. The 2023 Franclieu is a touch lower in octane than the regular Mâcon-Charnay bottling in this vintage, coming in at 13.5 percent alcohol. It delivers a beautifully precise and more soil-defined bouquet of apple, pear, almond, chalky soil tones and a lovely floral topnote redolent of both white lilies and apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, zesty and complex, with a beautiful core of pure fruit, excellent mineral drive and grip, a lovely spine of acidity and a long, pure and impeccably balanced finish. This is outstanding Mâcon and more refined and soil-driven in personality than the regular bottling! 2025-2040.

  • Caymus California 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon

    $39.99$210.00

    California
I feel this wine expresses the greatness of California and its hidden pockets where Cabernet can excel. The cold Pacific Ocean running the entire length of the state presents maritime influences – and with each small distance eastward the climate warms. Stony soils, south facing slopes and moderately warm conditions are the keys to producing dark, rich and good tasting Cabernet.
