The 2023 Pecorino Offida Villa Angela is sharply focused with a pungent whiff of grapefruit and lemon zest, further complicated by wild herbs and crushed stone. This is round and soothing, with a balanced inner sweetness offset by sour lime and crisp green apple. It finishes short yet clean and refreshing, leaving a hint of tart citrus rind concentration. If tasting blind, I could mistake this for a rich and powerful New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. That said, it’s opulent, balanced and thoroughly satisfying.

It is a white wine of great distinction, with strong hints of ripe fruit and exotic fruits. The wine has the typical sensations of the mediterranean scrub. It has the intense flavor of white peach. Excellent with hors d’oeuvres, fish and seafood.
