    Paso Robles California
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is smoking good, with a full-bodied, rich, opulent wine that has classic cassis and darker blue fruits as well as leafy tobacco, baking spice, and bouquet garni notes. This textured, ripe, sexy wine stays nicely balanced, has ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s another awesome value. regular $49.99

  • Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Grand Vin Saint-Julien

    $149.99

    Bordeaux
    Jeb Dunnuck 96 Rating
The flagship 2018 Château Beychevelle is a more serious, concentrated, focused wine that still has that classic Saint-Julien purity of fruit as well as a wealth of fruit. Gorgeous notes of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered blueberries, violets, spring flowers, tobacco leaf, and cedar notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with sweet tannins, moderate acidity, and a great, great finish. A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it's one of the sexiest, most up-front and irresistible wines in the vintage. Don't let that scare you, though; it's going to drink beautifully for 2-3 decades. SP55-4 R17-2

  • Chateau Beychevelle 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle

    $49.99$270.00

    Saint-Julien Bordeaux France
    Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
A rock star of a second wine already offering pleasure, the 2018 Amiral De Beychevelle checks in as 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that comes from the younger vines of the estate and slightly more sandy soils. This makes for a more up-front, fruit-driven wine that reveals a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous array of blueberries, black cherries, lead pencil shavings, tobacco, and spring flowers. It's classic Bordeaux on the nose, yet has a wonderful sweetness of fruit, ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and just a balanced, seamless style that's ideal for enjoying over the coming 10-15 years. • Castiglion del Bosco 2016 Brunello di Montalcino

    $79.99

    Tuscany Italy
    James Suckling 99 Rating
The complexity and beauty to this is really something with cherry, walnut, tobacco and cigar-box character. Sweet cherries. It’s full-bodied and deep with super intensity and power. Layered and beautiful. Really refined tannins. Some whole-berry fermentation gives this added character. Goes on for minutes. Try after 2025. SP48-3

  • Castello di Volpaia 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva

    $39.99

    Tuscany Italy
    Wine Spectator 97 Rating
Enticing aromas of black cherry, black currant and violet are allied to flavors of iron, wet earth and spice in this red, which is loaded with fruit, vibrant acidity and well-mannered tannins. Shows terrific harmony now, yet possesses the structure to age. The long, mouthwatering finish extends the dark fruit and mineral elements. Best from 2021 through 2040. BX-6 SP47-6

  • Gaja Ca’Marcanda 2022 Promis Toscana IGT

    $54.99$300.00

    Tuscany Italy
Aged for 18 months in slightly used barriques, followed by several months of bottle aging. 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah, 10% Sangiovese. Deep garnet color. The nose is rich with notes of licorice, sage and thyme. Its specific Mediterranean character is balanced with intense aromas of well-ripe small dark berries. Loam- and clay-rich terre brune, brown soils. A medium bodied wine with silky tannins and refreshing acidity. It opens with sweet and juicy notes of blackberry and black cherry, and then it ends with a pleasant salty and savory hint.

Effusive aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry, floral, mineral and tobacco are at the center of this linear, vibrant red. Well-structured, this offers terrific length on the sinewy finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. SP42-4

  • Cantina del Taburno 2015 Bue Apis Aglianico del Taburno

    $119.99

    Campania Italy
The Bue Apis is produced exclusively from grapes Aglianico from a century-old vineyard located in the district “Pantanella” at about 1000 meters from the Taburno cellar. This testifies to the ancient vineyard presence of Aglianico the slopes of Mount Taburno. The vinification of grapes from it obtained, the so-called original clone Aglianico bitter, is one of the paths that the Cantina del Taburno has undertaken to highlight the extraordinary potential of this ancient grape variety. • Saxum 2016 James Berry Vineyard

    $199.99

Willow Creek District Paso Robles California
    Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
I tasted the 2016 James Berry Vineyard out of barrel and it’s a smokin’ blend of 55% Grenache, 24% Mourvèdre, 13% Syrah and 8% Counoise that saw 24% whole clusters and aging mostly in barrel. Black raspberry and cassis intermixed with notions of mint, violets/spring flowers and pepper give way to a sensationally layered, full-bodied, gorgeous red that has excellent freshness and a great, great finish. While this cuvée has leaned towards to the more elegant side of the spectrum over the past 6-7 years, this is a return to the richer, more blockbuster style versions, and I think it’s better for it.
