William Fevre 2016 Montee de Tonnerre Chablis Premier Cru

    $59.99$359.94

    Burgundy France
    Wine Advocate 91-93 Rating

The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre comes from two hectares of vines split over three types of terroir. It has a crisp, fruits de mer-scented bouquet with plenty of dew-speckled Granny Smith apples. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, saline in the mouth and fine weight toward the finish, with plenty of persistence. This has great potential and could turn out to be one of William Fevre's best premier crus this year. Excellent. SWS

Rich fruit of blackberry, cassis, and blueberry display gracefully on the palate of this medium-bodied shiraz. Soft tannins with bright acidity make this wine an effortless go-to for a daily drinker. Drink this wine year-round, with a slight chill during the summer months to satisfy your red wine cravings. • Wrongo Dongo 2014 Bodegas Volver

    Wrongo Dongo 2016 Monastrell

    $8.99$95.88

    Jumilla Spain
    3.6 vivino Rating

From the seemingly exotic climate and unique soil of the Jumilla region comes a wine bursting with rich fruit flavors and luscious aromas of sweet and exotic spices. The deep violet color and long, well balanced tannins add to the enjoyment of the wine. Despite its name you can't go wrong with Wrongo Dongo. The wine has plenty of stuffing to hold its own with the heartiest of roasts, steaks and barbeque, yet the forward fruit flavors leads the wine to lighter dishes as well as simply enjoying it on its own with friends. Dongo to the party without it! WBC

The rich, dense texture is well-plied by black cherry, blackberry and violet flavors. A solid layer of tannins delivers grip, with the saturated fruit in lockstep. Terrific finish. Best from 2021 through 2033. 680 cases made. WBC

Wines from Meursault are typified by aromas and flavors of ripe melon, hazelnut, and lemon custard, and tend to be broader and more textural than wines from neighboring villages. Aging in 15-20% percent small French oak barrels lends notes of toast and vanilla. WBC

  • Xavier Vins 2007

Xavier Vins 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Anonyme

    $79.99

    Wine Advocate 96 Rating
Except for Henri Bonneau’s 2007 Reserve des Celestins (which is still in barrel), the last 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape to be released will be Xavier Vignon’s Anonyme. This sensational wine spent three years in a combination of demi-muids and small oak. It boasts an inky/purple color along with a sweet nose of underbrush, garrigue, licorice, blackberries and black currants. Full, thick, unctuously textured and even flamboyant, this stunning 2007 should drink well for another 15-20 years.

This is the serious side to Napa Cabernet. All Mt Veeder fruit. This is a Great example of what Mt Veeder has to offer to Napa Cab Lovers without being a fruit-bomb. It has a layered, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel that is balanced with refined, roasted French oak. It’s a sleeper and a keeper. R1-5

  • Yalumba Virgilius

    Yalumba 2016 The Virgilius Viognier

    $34.99$209.94

    Eden Valley Australia
    4.1 vivino Rating

The Virgilius is Yalumba’s most distinguished Viognier – a wine that shows power with restraint. As Yalumba’s most premium and enchanting white wine, it is loved by wine lovers looking for something beyond the more conventional offering. The nose has intense aromas of early season just picked apricots, cardamom, white pepper and fresh ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral sourdough like texture and complex apricots and almond savouriness. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine. It is complex while at the same time showing purity and restraint that will unwind slowly in the glass and take the imbiber on a sensory journey. At its best with food, The Virgilius complements a wide range of flavors, particularly dishes with spice and rich flavors. Try with poached pike perch; grilled sirloin and chips; beef rendang; pan fried herb stuffed mushrooms; or fresh gnocchi with olive oil and shaved truffles. The Virgilius, while showing all the virtues of great Viognier as a young wine, will reward cellaring as it evolves in the bottle, with even more layers of flavor and aroma.
