  • Marciano 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

    Marciano 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

    $239.99

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 98+ Rating
Bottled in September of this year, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate checks in as 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Cabernet Franc brought up in French oak. Its inky purple color is followed by classic notes of blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings, spring flowers, and hints of crushed rock. Deep, seamless, ultra-pure, and incredibly classic on the palate, it's another brilliant, classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from winemaker Morgan Maureze. It’s slightly more reserved than the 2015 (which is to be expected as the vintages are dramatically different) and is going to benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age. R26-2

  • Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard

Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard

    Price range: $59.99 through $300.00

    Sonoma Coast California
A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in the Sonoma Coast, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cooler pockets of the Sonoma Coast fared well through the heat and the resulting wines offer depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights. The resulting wines have concentrated flavors with tension and length. Pommard clone again dominates the final 2022 blend with earthy tones overlaying layers of red fruit flavors. A portion of each block was co-fermented whole cluster in 2022. Rodgers Creek Vineyard benefitted from the September heat wave, while the fog and wind tempered the microclimate. This vintage offers a broader palate and bold structure.

  • Dominus Estate 2016 Red

    Dominus Estate 2016 Red

    $299.99

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Advocate 100 Rating
A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc aged in 40% new oak, the 2016 Proprietary Red Wine is deep purple-black in color and quite reticent at this youthful stage to begin, offering up subtle notions of potpourri, Indian spices, cigar box and iron ore over a core of crushed blackberries and black cherries with intermittent wafts of black and red currants, new leather and smoked meats. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a densely packed mid-palate and oodles of freshness framed by very ripe, finely grained tannins and laced with compelling earthy accents. It offers incredible vibrancy with tons of black and red fruit sparkle in the mid-palate leading to a provocative mineral element on the very long finish. If I could give more than 100 for this one, I would. R42-2 SP11-1

  • Seghesio Family Vineyards Vermentino Keyhole Ranch

Seghesio Family Vineyards Vermentino Keyhole Ranch

    Price range: $19.99 through $108.00

    Russian River Valley California
A vibrant medley of fresh pear, lime leaf, and zesty lime zest opens on the nose, complemented by delicate notes of lemon peel, lemongrass, and fragrant orange blossom. The palate is bright and juicy, with hints of lychee and fresh citrus adding complexity. Crisp acidity enhances the lively, refreshing finish.
Steamed clams, mussels, or oysters would be an ideal pairing. Grilled halibut, crab, English pea risotto, or pasta with pesto would make for a perfect pairing as well. For cheese, fresh ricotta or burrata are excellent matches.

    Wine Advocate 90 Rating
A wine this estate’s been making for the past 25 years, the 2012 Seven Hills Vineyard Merlot is a big, rich, chewy wine that offers ample cherry, currant, licorice and spice to go with a full-bodied, ripe and nicely tannic feel on the palate. Made from 100% Merlot that spent 20 months in 40% new French oak, it’s outstanding, and will have 10-15 years of longevity. SP17-2

Youthfully compact in feel, this has some juicy, coiled up energy behind its core of blackberry and red currant fruit. Brambly grip and a roasted apple wood edge help drive the finish. Some short-term cellaring should let this round into form. Best from 2025 through 2035. 3,150 cases made. R28-6

    $79.99

    Eola-Amity Hills Willamette Valley
    James Suckling 99 Rating
This dramatically steep site delivers a wine of real personality and distinctiveness. The nose has a very layered mix of red cherries and berries with some plums, leaves, dry stones, forest wood and a wealth of sweetly fragrant spices. The palate holds such intensity and concentrated flavor with striking focus and drive. Mouthwateringly fresh red-cherry flavors are delivered in essence-like mode and hold long, on a super vibrant, explosive finish. The star of 2018 at Cristom and indeed for Willamette Valley pinot per se. Drink or hold. R27-3

  • Hourglass 2019 Blue Line Estate Merlot

Hourglass 2019 Blue Line Estate Merlot

    Napa Valley California
    Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
The 2019 Blueline Merlot checks in as 82% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Aged 18 months in French oak, it's a ripe, sexy, beautifully textured Merlot revealing plenty of red and blue fruits as well as notes of tobacco and sappy flowers. It's ripe but also balanced, and it’s already drinking brilliantly. SP17-2

    James Suckling 96 Rating
Very aromatic, pushing out aromas of dried red and black fruit, including dried blueberries and dates, together with a nice, spicy layer of nutmeg and pressed flowers. Full-bodied with an amazingly harmonious texture to the palate, thanks to the dense, very fine tannins that also provide super length. There’s a bright, saline mineral note that kicks in and pushes the finish even further. Exquisite Amarone. Drink or hold. R45-6
