Domaine Louis Latour 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
$199.99Burgundy France
James Suckling 97 Rating
Open and aromatic with honeysuckle flowers, dried apples and mangoes, as well as white peaches and stone. Full-bodied, this grows slowly on the palate with an intense, powerful finish. Lots of cream, cooked apples, lemons and light oak at the very end. Tight and right. Try after 2023. R22-1 -

Cesari 2020 Amarone della Valpolicella
Price range: $45.99 through $246.00Veneto Italy
Wine Advocate 92 Rating
In the bottle with the dark frosted glass, the 2020 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a rich and voluptuous wine with layers of dark fruit, baked plum and sweet barbecue spice. This air-dried blend of 55% Corvina Veronese, 25% Corvinone and 20% Rondinella maintains a classic Amarone profile with moderate complexity and a more approachable 15% alcohol content (which remains on the low end of this high-octane category of reds). There is a flurry of bitter and sweet spice on the close. Cesari counts over 100 hectares of hillside vineyards with different soil profiles ranging from 150 to 500 meters in elevation. This affords the winemaking team plenty of excellent sites to choose from.

Domaine Della 2018 Pinot Noir
$69.99Santa Lucia Highlands California

Located south of Monterey, the Santa Lucia Highlands is a great AVA that produces an amazing amount of outstanding Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrahs. Starting with the appellation 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands, it comes all from the Soberanes Vineyard (in the relative center/southern end of the appellation) and spent 15 months in 47% new French oak. This beautiful, elegant, complex wine displays the fruit-loaded style of the appellation yet stays balanced, nicely textured, and even elegant. Black cherries, black raspberries, leafy herbs, a touch of flowers, and some earthy/forest floor notes all emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with a soft, supple texture, again, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's slightly less expensive than the single vineyard, but I think it’s just as good. SP1-2 -

Tenuta Argentiera 2015 Bolgheri Superiore

A delightful nose of creme de cassis, hot stones and crushed violets and spices. Full body, chewy and super polished tannins and a long finish, which really takes off thanks to electric acidity. An essay in balance and depth. Best ever. Puts Argentiera with the best of the best in Tuscany. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. SP46-1 -

Quilceda Creek 2014 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$249.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Jeb Dunnuck 100 Rating
The finest vintage ever for this cuvée, the utterly spellbinding 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard is 100% Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon that was brought up in new barrels. Slightly deeper and richer than the Columbia Valley Cabernet, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a smorgasbord of graphite, crushed violets, crushed rocks, cassis and dark chocolate. With incredible richness, ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a stacked mid-palate, give this crazy good red 2-3 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following two decades! Bravo to the team at Quilceda! SP29-5 -

Quilceda Creek 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
$229.99Columbia Valley
Jeb Dunnuck 98+ Rating
Another magical Cabernet Sauvignon from this team, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley comes from a blend of sites and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up mostly in new French oak. This vivid purple-hued beauty offers a kaleidoscope-like array of red and black currants, spice box, lead pencil shavings, crushed stone, and assorted tobacco and leafy herb nuances. These carry to full-bodied Cabernet with incredible purity of fruit, building tannins and structure, flawless balance, and a monster of a finish that won't quit. It should keep for 20-25 years with no issues. SP23-1 BX-6 -

Quilceda Creek 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon

More serious, and one of the wines of the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) has uncommon concentration and depth in the vintage, as well as a broad, structured profile that will allow it to age gracefully. Loaded with sweet creme de cassis, exotic spice, licorice and graphite, it’s a full-bodied, elegant and classically styled effort that has nothing out of place, fine, building tannin and a rock star finish. It will be approachable at an earlier stage than most vintages, yet still have two decades of longevity. R38-2 SP25-2 -

Quilceda Creek 2010 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
$199.99Columbia Valley Washington State
Wine Advocate 97 Rating
Even more concentrated, structured and dense than the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot all from the Red Mountain AVA) delivers an incredible array of black currant, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco and assorted spring flower-like nuances that give way to a massively concentrated, tannic and structured 2010 that has brilliant mid-palate depth, integrated acidity and a pure, detailed and energetic texture that carries through the finish. As with the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, this is more fun to taste than to drink presently and needs 5-6 years or more of bottle age to round into form. It too will have two to three decades or more of ultimate longevity. Drink 2018-2035. SP25-1
