Wrongo Dongo 2018 Monastrell$10.99–$108.00
Bright violet colour. Highly perfumed bouquet offers fresh blackberry, blueberry, potpourri and peppery spices. Pliant, medium-bodied dark berry flavours show good freshness and energy, picking up silky tannins with air. Turns tighter on the back, with the sweet dark fruit qualities echoing. This is pretty sexy stuff, especially for the price.

The rich, dense texture is well-plied by black cherry, blackberry and violet flavors. A solid layer of tannins delivers grip, with the saturated fruit in lockstep. Terrific finish. Best from 2021 through 2033. 680 cases made. WBC

Xavier Vins 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Anonyme$44.99
Southern Rhone Valley
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
Except for Henri Bonneau’s 2007 Reserve des Celestins (which is still in barrel), the last 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape to be released will be Xavier Vignon’s Anonyme. This sensational wine spent three years in a combination of demi-muids and small oak. It boasts an inky/purple color along with a sweet nose of underbrush, garrigue, licorice, blackberries and black currants. Full, thick, unctuously textured and even flamboyant, this stunning 2007 should drink well for another 15-20 years.
Y. Rousseau 2013 Le Roi Soleil Mt Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon$99.99
Napa Valley California
Enjoyabilityfactor 95 Rating
This is the serious side to Napa Cabernet. All Mt Veeder fruit. This is a Great example of what Mt Veeder has to offer to Napa Cab Lovers without being a fruit-bomb. It has a layered, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel that is balanced with refined, roasted French oak. It’s a sleeper and a keeper.
Yalumba 2016 The Virgilius Viognier$34.99–$209.94
Eden Valley Australia
4.1 vivino Rating
The Virgilius is Yalumba’s most distinguished Viognier – a wine that shows power with restraint. As Yalumba’s most premium and enchanting white wine, it is loved by wine lovers looking for something beyond the more conventional offering. The nose has intense aromas of early season just picked apricots, cardamom, white pepper and fresh ginger. Lifted ginger spice is layered on the palate with mineral sourdough like texture and complex apricots and almond savouriness. The trademark Viognier lusciousness of the palate is clearly evident in this wine. It is complex while at the same time showing purity and restraint that will unwind slowly in the glass and take the imbiber on a sensory journey. At its best with food, The Virgilius complements a wide range of flavors, particularly dishes with spice and rich flavors. Try with poached pike perch; grilled sirloin and chips; beef rendang; pan fried herb stuffed mushrooms; or fresh gnocchi with olive oil and shaved truffles. The Virgilius, while showing all the virtues of great Viognier as a young wine, will reward cellaring as it evolves in the bottle, with even more layers of flavor and aroma.

Yalumba Samuel’s Collection 2017 Shiraz$18.99–$180.00
Barossa, South Australia, Australia
Wine Enthusiast 90 Rating
This is a well-balanced and drinkable yet food friendly example of Barossa's most famous wine style. It oozes ripe plums, licorice, dried green herbs, dried florals, warm earth and graphite nuances with a lick of spicy oak. The tannins are fine and chalky textured, and a line of acidity lifts the plump fruit, herbs and spice into brightness.

Yalumba Tawny Port 375ML half-bottle$19.99–$216.00
Barossa Valley South Australia
Vinousmedia 93 Rating
Dark amber. Nutty, tangy and fresh on the nose, with exotic aromas of candied orange, toffee, cherry pit and raspberry. Wild, exotic and compelling; a riot of sweet, nutty fruit flavors in conjunction with a viscous texture. The finish is enlivened by refreshing acids. This is really suave.
