  • Domaine Faiveley 2020 Beaune Clos de l’Ecu Premier Cru

    $99.99

Cote de Beaune Cote d'Or Burgundy France
    Wine Advocate 93 Rating
Aromas of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, raw cocoa and peonies preface the 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de l'Écu Monopole, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and vibrant wine with tangy acids, melting tannins and a long, saline finish. This is very promising. SP3-6

  • Domaine Faiveley 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

    $59.99

    Burgundy France
The nose is elegant, and racy and offers a certain power. It reveals notes of boysenberry, violet, and more slightly – notes of bright wild berries associated with touches of smoke, pepper, bright black plum as well as hints of spice, camphor and a subtle almost saline note. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, a tangy frame, a nice freshness, subtlety, a certain straightness (all in elegance), harmony, finesse, tension as well as a nice delicate touch on the palate. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/creamy blackberry, juicy/tangy blackcurrant, and more slightly – notes of pulpy raspberry associated with touches of cornflower, violet, juicy/tangy cherry as well as slight hints of small tangy/bright blue fruits, vanilla, toast and nutmeg. The tannins are soft and elegant. Good length. SP6-12

  • Domaine Faiveley 2020 Mercurey Clos du Roy 1er Cru

    $54.99

    Burgundy France
    Wine Advocate 93 Rating
The 2020 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos du Roy wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries and plums mingled with hints of raw cocoa and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's lively and refined, with velvety tannins and a polished, charming profile that marks it out as another of the more elegant wines in the range this year. SP2-6

  • Domaine Faiveley 2020 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes

    $39.99$222.00

    Burgundy France
    Wine Advocate 90 Rating
The 2020 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, loamy soil, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a deep, layered core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids, it's a touch more muscular than the 2019 rendition.

A luscious, fruity style, offering black currant, black cherry, wet earth, vanilla and mineral notes. Dense, showing some grip on the extended finish. Overall, this is polished and harmonious. Drink now through 2033.

  • Domaine Fleurot-Larose 2018 Abbaye de Morgeot 1er Cru

    $59.99$636.00

    Burgundy France
These days, many fashionable producers are seeking out a more austere, ‘reductive’ (i.e. oxygen-starved) style of Chardonnay, which may be a response to a time in the ’90s and ’00s when many white Burgundies suffered from premature oxidation (“premox” for short). Much as we love the high-pitched squeal of the more reductive styles, we also appreciate the more opulent, textural, golden-hued style of Fleurot-Larose’s Premier Cru “Abbaye de Morgeot.” There’s no premox—not the slightest hint—but there’s a lot of ripe yellow apple fruit and a well-managed bit of toast to sink your teeth into here. This is a gutsy, ‘roast chicken’ white Burgundy with old school heft and charm. The “Abbaye de Morgeot” vineyard is a small sub-section of the “Morgeot,” the largest and best-known of Chassagne’s Premier Crus. WL-3

  • Domaine Gachot 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Herbues

    $64.99$348.00

    Côte-de-Nuits Burgundy France
The pretty nose smells fabulously of Pinot Noir. The palate has good, juicy flesh to it, and the tannin/acid balance, well even in Burgundy you rarely find such an elegant balance. As red Burgundy or Pinot Noir, I think you will agree that this is an incredible value. R24-1 SP1-2

  • Domaine Gérard Raphet 2018 Clos de la Roche “Cuvée Unique” Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru

    $249.99

    Burgundy France
    Enjoyabilityfactor 99 Rating
Stunning! Almost too hard to describe and I guess the reason for that is we don't taste enough red Burgundy at this quality level often enough! Usually we think in terms of a feminine style of Pinot Noir. In this case, massive power combined with concentrated, lavish, extravagant and richly textured flavors. Put some in the cellar! SP1-3
