Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils 2019 Chateauneuf Du Pape Les Apotres
$99.99Southern Rhone Valley France
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A relatively new cuvée that encompasses all the permitted varieties of the appellation and is brought up in amphora, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Apotres offers a beautiful perfume of black raspberry and blackberry fruits interwoven with loads of spring flowers, white truffle, spice, and sappy garrigue aromas and flavors. This beauty is seamless, medium to full-bodied, and my money is on it being the finest vintage for this cuvée to date. BX-5 -

Montanet-Thoden 2023 Vézelay Galerne
Price range: $34.99 through $360.00Burgundy France
The vines are only twenty years old but are already producing excellent fruit due to the organic cultivation and the presence of lots of limestone in the clay soils. It is a great place for fossil hunting! This is a lively 100% Chardonnay packed with white flowers and impressive minerality backed by bracing acidity and beautiful, rounded flavor. The grapes are hand-picked and then pressed very gently. It was fermented in stainless steel using wild yeasts to provide added complexity.

Pol Roger Brut Reserve Champagne
Price range: $64.99 through $696.00France
Jeb Dunnuck 91 Rating
Equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier, the NV Champagne Reserve Brut has the 2019 vintage as its base, with 25% reserve wine. It pours a bright silver straw hue and is fresh on opening, with a floral perfume of white flowers, fresh pear, and fresh almond. Medium-bodied, it’s attractive and approachable, with juicy peach fruit that fills the palate, although it stays refined, with a pinpoint mousse and a clean finish. It is a lovely entry to the range to enjoy now or over the next 6-8 years, and I love this as an aperitif style. 8 grams per liter of dosage.
