1-Txomin Etxaniz 2024 Getariako Txakolina Basque Spain
Wine Enthusiast 90 Rating
This wine has a bouquet of green apple, olives and pickled jalapeño. There is something pleasantly briny about it, with flavors of grapefruit and pineapple infused with a soft saline note and a light floral lift. A hint of jalapeño continues on the palate and is notable on the finish.
2-Pago del Vicario 2023 Blanco de Tempranillo Vino de Pago La Mancha Spain
Decanter Magazine 95 Rating
Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. Aromas of ripe pear and ripe citrus zest mingle with slight floral notes and touches of tropical fruit, such as green mango. Bold flavor on the palate, full of green apple, white peach, dried herbs, green olive and bitter almond with a captivating minerality that powers the long, lively finish.

A pretty and balanced wine with blackberry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body. Fine tannins and a polished finish. Shows finesse for Toro. Aged for 14 months in wood, a small percentage of which was used. From organically grown grapes.
4-Lopez De Heredia 2012 Vina Tondonia Reserva Rioja Spain
Decanter Magazine 94 Rating
After six years in barrel (produced at López de Heredia’s own cooperage) and three in bottle prior to release this is all you can expect from a classical Viña Tondonia with its focused intensity and muscular yet super elegant tannins. Assertive but also super silky, with juicy fruit gliding through the palate while being pleasantly pulled back by an energetic, smoky verve. Broody while at the same time mature – another accomplished vintage of a true classic.
5-Aalto 2021 Red Ribera del Duero Ribera del Duero Spain
Decanter 95 Rating
Beth Willard: Seductively fruity nose with flinty, stony character, even a touch of blood orange. Deep and concentrated with a lot of oak and acidity, but in balance. David Williams: Prominent oak, but high quality and integrated with the high-toned, ripe fruit. Savoury and engaging with satisfying richness and texture, with a long finish. Diana Rollan: Elegant and balanced with red berry notes of cranberry and raspberry, a touch of vanilla and dark chocolate. An appealing, polished style that keeps on giving, superb.
6-Clos i Terrasses Clos Erasmus 2017 Laurel Priorat, Spain
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
The 2017 Laurel is a blend of the younger vines, some barrels that were declassified from Clos Erasmus and the remaining Cabernet Sauvignon, and in the low-yielding and dry 2017 vintage, it’s 70% Garnacha, 20% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 15% alcohol. The wine fermented mostly in concrete and oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in a combination of oak vats, concrete, used barriques and amphorae for 16 months.
