A more classically informed example from the Susana Balbo portfolio, the 2023 Brioso draws on their high-density planting established in Agrelo in 1999. Savory aromas of graphite and gravel mingle with a lush backdrop of dark fruits and discreetly toasted undertones, followed by a rich, sumptuous mouthfeel that retains definition and poise. It concludes with a textured, layered finish that lingers with supple tannins and a well-defined mineral core. The blend is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Petit Verdot, 14% Malbec and 12% Cabernet Franc, entirely destemmed and aged for 15 months in used barrels.
