Sinegal 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Price range: $69.99 through $390.00California
Jeb Dunnuck 92 Rating
The classic appellation 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley checks in as 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, and the balance Malbec and Petit Verdot. It’s a terrific base cuvée and offers everything you’d want at this price point with its deep ruby/purple hue and forward, sumptuous aromas and flavors of cassis and jammy currants, chocolaty oak, and violets. It’s a plump, front-end-loaded, velvety textured, beautifully balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with tons to love. As with most 2022s, it’s ready to go and there’s no need to delay gratification (although it will keep for a decade).

Sojourn 2022 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard
Price range: $59.99 through $300.00Sonoma Coast California
A warm 2022 summer brought one of the earliest harvests on record in the Sonoma Coast, with a September heat wave influencing some picking decisions. Cooler pockets of the Sonoma Coast fared well through the heat and the resulting wines offer depth and finesse. Yields were miniscule, with many vineyards breaking records on the low side for cluster weights. The resulting wines have concentrated flavors with tension and length. Pommard clone again dominates the final 2022 blend with earthy tones overlaying layers of red fruit flavors. A portion of each block was co-fermented whole cluster in 2022. Rodgers Creek Vineyard benefitted from the September heat wave, while the fog and wind tempered the microclimate. This vintage offers a broader palate and bold structure.

Sojourn 2023 Pinot Noir Rogers Creek Vineyard
Price range: $59.99 through $312.00Sonoma Coast California
The cool 2023 weather was ideal for ripening Pinot Noir at Rodgers Creek Vineyard. The grapes matured at an even pace, resulting in a mix of vibrant red and dark fruit flavors with hints of mushroom and earth. This vineyard sits high on a ridge in the heart of the windy Petaluma Gap. Its climate and steep slopes are well suited for growing exceptional Pinot Noir. This 2023 vintage is a blend of Pommard clone and 667, with 20% of the grapes fermented whole cluster to add verve and layers of complexity to the final wine.

Sojourn Cellars 2018 Gaps Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir
$79.99Sonoma Coast California
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A gem of a wine, the 2018 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard comes from one of the great sites on the Sonoma Coast and saw a touch of stems (10%) and 50% new French oak. Tasting like a mix of a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with its richness and depth and a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir with its elegance and finesse, this brilliant wine is loaded with wild strawberry and darker berry fruits intermixed with lots violets, spice, pine cone, and forest floor aromas and flavors. It packs plenty of richness and depth on the palate, has awesome tannins, a stacked mid-palate, and no shortage of length on the finish. Don't miss it! R23-1 -

Keenly structured but a bit brooding in its expression for now, yet this retains plenty of dark raspberry, pomegranate, earthy mineral and black tea flavors that end with fine-grained tannins.

Spottswoode 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
$299.99Napa Valley California
Wine Advocate 100 Rating

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 89.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.5% Cabernet Franc and 4.0% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs of lot of swirling to unlock the most gorgeous perfume of bright black and red cherries, fresh blueberries and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of roses, cinnamon stick and orange peel. Medium-bodied, elegant and tightly wound, the palate shimmers with SO MUCH energy, featuring layer upon layer of floral, savory and crunchy black fruit notes, finishing long and minerally. This is a remarkably poised, seemingly effortless beauty that cannot fail to make your jaw drop. Forget it in the cellar for a good 3-5 years, at least, to allow all those nuances to fully emerge and then savor it over the next 30 years+. R22-4 SP30-2
