Plush notes of graphite and dark chocolate dominate, while the bright red-fruited character of the Grenache shines through, interwoven with violet and dried rose petal aromatics. A pronounced mineral streak—reminiscent of incense or wet slate—adds intrigue, and the finish is long and satisfying, supported by a firm spine of tangy blood orange acidity. A truly impressive effort from Phinney, wrapped in an eye-catching label.
