Maison Brotte 2022 La Rollande Crozes-Hermitage
$24.99 – $126.00Northern Rhone Valley France
Dark with hints of deep purple. The nose has intense blackcurrant and violet aromas with spicy notes of white pepper, licorice, vanilla, black olives and a hint of laurel leaves. The palate is harmonious and firm, suggestive of cherries and blackcurrant with long and well-defined tannins on the finish. The long and flavorful finale reveals black fruits notes.

Domaine Jean Grivot 2022 Vosne-Romanee
$124.99Cote de Nuits Burgundy France
Decanter Magazine 94 Rating
The attractive medium-deep ruby color announces a pleasantly ripe plummy fruit with nuance of smoke and earth. The texture is supple, and yet there is sufficient tension and grip to draw this out to a lingering finish. It is still ageing in cask (20% new) and will be bottled in March according to the moon’s phase. It is a true ‘cuvée ronde’, a blend of 10 climats from around the village from the top, such as Aux Champs Perdrix, to the base of the slope at Pré de la Folie. SP1-6 -
Merus 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
$124.99Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
A killer bottle of Napa Valley magic, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from Merus is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. It’s a powerful, full-bodied, uber-ripe beauty that stays lively and balanced, with beautiful blue fruits, as well as smoked tobacco, chocolate, and scored earth-like aromas and flavors. A beast of a wine with a great mid-palate and velvety tannins, it should shed its considerable baby fat over the coming 4-6 years and have two decades of overall longevity. R39-4 -
Romano Dal Forno 2017 Valpolicella Superiore
$124.99Veneto Italy
James Suckling 95 Rating
Pungent nose of violets, amarena cherries, dried figs and lightly charred oak. Some toffee notes emerge with air, together with more pressed flowers. Not so much full-bodied as full-flavored, with silky, fine and polished tannins. Very young and driven at the moment. Lacks the depth and complexity of more fortunate vintages, but still shows exceptional quality. Try from 2024. -
Chateau La Gaffeliere 2018 Grand Cru Classe Saint-Emilion
$124.99Bordeaux
Vinous 99 Rating
The 2018 La Gaffelière is hands down one of the wines of the vintage. Towering in its stature and vertical lift, the 2018 dazzles right out of the gate. Inky dark fruit, mocha, spice, licorice and leather all run through this deep, wonderfully pliant Saint-Émilion. The 2018 is rich, deep and beautifully resonant, with tremendous depth and tons of stature that builds, all framed by beams of supporting minerality that confer vibrancy. La Gaffelière is distinctive, alluring and arresting right out of the gate. It is another magnificent showing from this reborn estate. The blend is 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Franc. Magnifique! Lillian 2019 Syrah
$124.99California
From the one and only Maggie Harrison, this cult-worthy Syrah is off the charts. The bouquet is a complex dance of dark fruit preserves, sandalwood, sweet flowers and spice-cake with mineral notes in the background. The fleshy, vivacious palate is packed tight with blueberry and violet. The finish is oh so long, framed in flowers and velvety tannins. Truly a knockout Syrah with the bones to age beautifully if you can keep your hands off it. R14-1
