Chateau de Beaucastel 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape
$99.99 – $510.00Southern Rhone Valley France
Decanter Magazine 96 Rating
Share Tweet
A deep, quite herbal expression, with liquorice and crushed blueberries to the cassis fruit. Full-bodied, powerfully fruited, dense and deep. Really mouthcoating, intense fruit. The tannins are ripe, fine and plentiful, all saturated in blackberry juice on a long finish. Certainly, one of the more successful Châteauneufs this year. Will age well. A Mourvèdre-led expression of Beaucastel – it contains more than usual, at least 35% and probably more. Grenache and Cinsault fermented in cement, Syrah and Mourvèdre fermented in foudre SPBX-6

La Jota 2019 Merlot Howell Mountain
$99.99 – $510.00Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Rating
Based on 82% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot, and the rest Tannat, the 2019 Merlot offers a deep, saturated plum/ruby color to go with youthful, powerful notes of ripe red and black fruits, scorched earth, Asian spices, and lead pencil shavings. Rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and textured on the palate, this rich, structured Merlot is going to evolve for at least 15-20 years.

Merry Edwards Winery 2021 Meredith Estate Pinot Noir
$99.99 – $1,020.00Russian River Sonoma County California
Wine Enthusiast 96 Rating
This deep-garnet-colored wine is an exercise in enthusiasm. Raspberry, blackberry, cocoa and orange peel aromas on the nose are turned up to 11, while the saturated palate gives crème de cassis, licorice and fried shiitake flavors for minutes on end. This is Pinot that’s built for steak, lamb or mushroom dishes. Patience will be rewarded here, if you can resist the immediate charm.

Joseph Phelps 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
$99.99 – $1,020.00Napa Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Rating
Looking at the Cabernet releases, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is deep purple-hued and has a classic nose of ripe currants, tobacco, lead pencil, and chocolate. This rich, fleshy, full-bodied 2021 has solid mid-palate depth, the structure and density that’s the hallmark of the vintage, and a great finish. It’s a beauty.

El Enemigo 2019 Mendoza Gran Enemigo
$99.99 – $570.00Mendoza Argentina
Wine Advocate 96 Rating
The blend of the 2019 Gran Enemigo changed to 40% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot from Gualtallary, in a year when they used less Malbec and more Cabernet. It has restrained 13.5% alcohol and an incredibly balanced palate, very tasty and juicy, with impressive herbal notes intermixed with ripe berries. If there’s something these wines don’t have, it’s sweetness. They are austere and complete, serious and designed for the long run.

Familia Nin-Ortiz 2016 Nit de Nin Mas d’en Caçador
$99.99 – $540.00Priorat Spain
Wine Advocate 98 Rating
The 2016 Nit de Nin Mas d’en Caçador was produced with grapes from 78- to 113-year-old vines in the Mas d'en Caçador vineyard in Porrera. It's a blend of Garnacha Negra, Garnacha Peluda and Cariñena with some 5% white grapes. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in a 3,200-liter oak vat and matured in a similar 2,700-liter oak vat. It has great balance and is ripe and Mediterranean, without any excess; it's incredibly elegant and has character. In a way, it makes me think of a classical Châteauneuf, with fine tannins and subtle minerality

Tenuta di Arceno 2018 Valadorna
$99.99 – $480.00Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 94 Rating
Available in a heavy glass bottle, this is now 100% Merlot with fruit from two late-ripening vineyard sites (Valadorna and Capraia). The Tenuta di Arceno 2018 Valadorna is a dense, full-bodied Tuscan wine with hints of rosemary and grilled spice and plenty of velvety softness. This vintage shows extra spiciness for barbecued meat on the grill. This wine started off with only Merlot but became a Bordeaux blend in later years; however, the 2018, 2019 and 2021 vintages are 100% Merlot.

Domaine Louis Moreau 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru
$99.99Due in Mid-December
Burgundy France
Wine Spectator 97 Rating
Notes of crushed limestone and sea salt lend freshness to powerfully ripe yellow apple, pineapple and pear flavors in this wine. Matured entirely in stainless steel, it's a classic Chablis focused squarely on the sun-drenched richness and invigorating mineral sheen of the Grand Cru Les Clos vineyard. -
Domaine Serene 2021 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir
$99.99 – $480.00Dundee Hills Oregon
The 2021 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir is a refreshing and elegant vintage. It’s made from 100% estate-grown grapes and has a silky texture that’s perfect for pairing with poultry or duck confit. The nose offers rose petals, wild strawberry, strawberry candy, confectionary, Italian fine leather, and hibiscus. On the palate, it’s maraschino cherry sweet with a light body and lifted tannins. It finishes with a lovely blueberry compote and velvety texture that lingers long after the last sip. This wine is perfect for any fall holiday dinner. R39-1
