  • Lewis Cellars 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon

Lewis’s 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark hued and seemingly impenetrable to light. Black cherries and plums mark the nose of this full-bodied wine. It’s rich, thick, even almost a touch oily, supple and super ripe yet not raisined and tinged with mocha and dark chocolate on the lingering, velvety finish. It’s a statement-making style that some will likely detest, while others will adore.

  • Nickel & Nickel 2021 Branding Iron Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

    $109.99$1,140.00

    Oakville Napa Valley California
From the black cherry and dried herb aromatics to the sappy fruit flavors, Branding Iron Cabernet pulses with instantly approachable appeal. With deep fruit flavors that have a focused intensity yet feel round and broad on the palate, there’s a compelling density we have come to expect from western Oakville Cabernet, along with coating tannins, warm toasted oak, and an extended finish.

  • Hartford Court 2016 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard

I also loved the 2016 Pinot Noir Arrendell Vineyard. Located in the Russian River and planted in 1975 to a heritage Martini Clone, this cool site struggles to ripen, giving this 2016 an exotic, complex, vibrant style along with its ample red and black fruits, candied violets, potpourri, and sandalwood. It’s one of the more vibrant, racier wines in the lineup, yet its acidity is nicely integrated, it’s flawlessly balanced, and it has a great, great finish. Give bottles a year or two and enjoy over the following decade. R15-1

  • CADE Estate Winery 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate

    $109.99$630.00

    Howell Mountain Napa Valley
    Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes all from the estate on Howell Mountain and is 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, and the balance Merlot and Petit Verdot. More blue fruits, bay leaf, candied violets, orange blossom, and floral notes emerge from this full-bodied beauty, which reveals a rounded, sexy texture, polished tannins, and a great finish. Give bottles just a few years in the cellar and it's going to keep for 15+.

  • Maynard’s 40 Years Old Aged Tawny Porto

    $109.99$570.00

    Portugal
40 year old tawny is always lovely to drink, as the constituent wines have spent so long in oak barrels that the water content has partially evaporated, concentrating the flavors. This has developed a lovely intense palate with flavors of caramelized nuts and burnt orange rind. There is a high level of acidity which cuts through the richness. Absolutely delicious and good value for the style.

  • Dominio de Pingus 2020 Flor de Pingus

    $109.99

    Ribera del Duero
    Wine Advocate 94 Rating
There is around 20% new oak in the 2020 Flor de Pingus, and because it has a little younger vines (there was a land-consolidation project in La Horra in 2006!), there'll be some Garnacha starting in 2021 and maybe some oak vats for aging too. All this shows the direction, where he found structure and volume in the palate, with textured tannins. It's harmonious and elegant, aromatic and floral, perfumed and showy, with contained ripeness and around 14% alcohol. The palate is quite powerful, with abundant but fine tannins. R38-2

A delightful nose of creme de cassis, hot stones and crushed violets and spices. Full body, chewy and super polished tannins and a long finish, which really takes off thanks to electric acidity. An essay in balance and depth. Best ever. Puts Argentiera with the best of the best in Tuscany. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. SP46-1

  • Purlieu 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up exuberant notions of blackcurrant pastilles, blackberry compote and stewed red plums with touches of kirsch, potpourri, fragrant earth and cigar box. Full-bodied and opulently fruited in the mouth, the powerful flavors are well framed by firm, ripe tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. R30-1 SP29-6
