  • Domain Jean Francois 2021 Pinot Noir The Twelve Rows from Sanford & Benedict Vineyard

Domain Jean Francois 2021 Pinot Noir The Twelve Rows from Sanford & Benedict Vineyard

    $99.99

    Santa Rita Hills California

The 2021 Pinot Noir Sanford and Benedict Vineyard The Twelve Rows is seriously impressive. A wine of stature and pedigree, the 2021 exudes depth in its dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and mocha. The Twelve Rows is sourced from the far eastern portion of Block 6. It sees a bit more stem inclusion in vinification, longer aging with no SO2 and more time in wood than the Sanford Pinots. All this marvelous, complex Pinot needs is time.

Bursting from the glass with notes of sweet berries, petals, peonies and raw cocoa, the 2019 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Le Prieuré is medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and a succulent, spice-inflected finish. Deeper than the 2017 and more elegant than the 2018, this gets my nod as the finest Le Prieuré of the three. SP1-1

Upon first encounter, the nose is greeted by a harmonious blend of red and dark fruits, with ripe cherries and blackberries taking the lead, intertwined with subtle hints of dried herbs and a delicate floral undertone. The 2023 Chablis from Domaine de Chaude Écuelle is a dry and elegant white wine that perfectly expresses the Kimméridgien terroir of Chemilly-sur-Serein, in the heart of Burgundy. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, hand-harvested and vinified in stainless steel, it undergoes complete malolactic fermentation and ages for 10 months on the lees, without any oak. In the glass, it appears a bright straw yellow with greenish highlights. On the nose, it releases fresh notes of green apple, lemon, white-fleshed fruit, and aromatic herbs, with mineral nuances. On the palate, it is dry and vibrant, supported by a pleasant savory finish and a creamy texture. Ideal with oysters, crustaceans, mollusks, and refined fish dishes, it is also perfect as an aperitif or with light ethnic cuisine.

  • Domaine de Chevalier 2010 Bordeaux Blend

Domaine de Chevalier 2010 Bordeaux Blend

    $119.99

    Pessac Leognan Bordeaux
    Jeb Dunnuck 95 Rating
The 2010 Domaine de Chevalier is still a baby, yet with air, offers tons of pleasure. Black currants, truffle, scorched earth, and licorice aromas and flavors all give way to a big, concentrated, unctuous beauty that has ample sweetness to its tannin, a stacked mid-palate, and a blockbuster finish. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot, it needs an hour in a decanter if drinking anytime soon, and certainly has another two decades of longevity in front of it. It’s a sensational bottle of wine. R12-1
