  • Dominus Estate 2019 Red

    Napa Valley California
    James Suckling 98 Rating
Lots of crushed stone, lead pencil and licorice aromas that are extremely aromatic and bright. Black cherries, cloves and purple fruit, too. Full body and a round and ripe center-palate with a juicy interior. It opens at the end with a savory and juicy finish. Layered and beautiful. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years. SP11-1

  • Double Diamond (Schrader) 2019 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

    $169.99

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Spectator 94 Rating
#1 Top Wine of 2022 – Packs in generous steeped plum, boysenberry and mulberry flavors backed by a broad swath of roasted alder and bittersweet cocoa. Brimming with dense fruit and is squarely in the not-shy style. The long finish has a serious loamy tug, too. R42-9

  • Dow’s 2011 Vintage Porto

    $199.99

    Portugal
    Wine Spectator 99 Rating
Powerful, refined and luscious, with a surplus of dark plum, kirsch and cassis flavors that are unctuous and long. Shows plenty of grip, presenting a long, full finish, filled with Asian spice and raspberry tart accents. Rich and chocolaty. One for the ages. Best from 2030 through 2060. Only 5,000 cases made. SP60-5

This is made from grapes grown at Three Palms Vineyard, alongside other valley floor and mountain fruit, including 10% Merlot and smaller percentages of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Smooth, lush and robust in dark cherry and plum, it's fruit forward and full bodied, with considerable ripeness. SP25-2

A structured blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and tiny pinches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this barrel-selection wine is sourced from an estate-grown block. It is graceful yet intense, with powerfully integrated tannins and lasting oak that support flavors of black cherry and cassis accented in cedar and clove. It will do well in the cellar; enjoy from 2026–2031.

  • Duckhorn Vineyards 2019 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

    $114.99$582.00

    Napa Valley California
    Wine Spectator 93 Rating
A dark, winey version, featuring heavy steeped black currant and black cherry notes that are still tightly coiled up, with graphite, tar and sweet tobacco notes. Reveals a buried sleek iron accent, which lends length and focus through the structured yet racy finish. A textbook Howell Mountain Cabernet. Drink now through 2035.

I like the savory nose here, with notes of coffee, spiced plum, overturned earth and bark. Full-bodied with fine, silky tannins. Expressive, but focused, with really clean and clear dark fruit blending nicely with ground spice and grilled herbs. Totally delicious. This will age very nicely.

  • DuMol 2021 Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay

    $89.99

    Sonoma Coast California
    Wine Advocate 98 Rating
The 2021 Chardonnay Isobel Charles Heintz Vineyard is the 20th bottling of a Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay at DuMOL. It was harvested September 25-27, matured in larger barrels and finished with six months in stainless steel. “There are very few better vintages of this,” winemaker Andy Smith exclaims during our tasting, and I have to agree. It’s bursting with scents of matchstick, chamomile, Greek yogurt and white peach, and over time, it unfurls unique spicy, herbal undertones. The palate is intensely concentrated, boasting expansive, dynamic flavors that segue from stone fruit to honey. Satiny and seamless, it has a tremendously long finish with mind-altering depth of flavor. Fans of Burgundy will love it for its flinty tones, and fans of California for its concentration and power. R28-3

  • Dunn 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain

    $149.99

    Napa Valley California

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers good density, but in more of a medium-bodied style that is quite a bit more approachable than is the norm here. A whole range of inky Howell Mountain fruit, graphite, grilled herb, licorice, spice, chocolate, and lavender nuances open up in a brooding, resonant Cabernet that needs a few years in bottle to start drinking well. There is plenty of the structure readers have come to expect from Dunn, but less youthful austerity, which is not a bad thing at all. SP29-2
