Epoch Estate Wines 2016 Syrah Block B
$99.99Paso Robles California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
Coming all from a single parcel in the estate Paderewski Vineyard (all Syrah, and clone 174) and raised in 80% new French oak, the 2016 Syrah Block B reveals a saturated purple color as well as a massive bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, bacon fat, graphite, ground pepper, and violets. Deep, rich, and powerful, yet still light on its feet, it's one of the most singular, brilliant Syrahs in the vintage. R6-3 -
Epoch Estate Wines 2017 Authenticity Red
$89.99Paso Robles California
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Rating
One of the deeper hued wines in the lineup, the 2017 Authenticity checks in as 92% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre, and the rest Viognier. Classic Paso Robles notes of blueberries, melted licorice, ground pepper, cured meats, and bacon fat all flow to a deep, full-bodied, opulent wine with terrific purity, a rounded, sexy texture, and a seriously good finish. Epoch Estate Wines 2017 Syrah Block B
$99.99Paso Robles California
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
It's always a more masculine, powerful Syrah, and the 2017 is no exception. It delivers loads of black fruits, bloody meat, marine-like salinity and minerality, full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a blockbuster of a finish. This shows the sexy, ripe style of the vintage, and while it's a joy to drink today, it certainly has a solid decade of life ahead of it. SP15-6 -
Faethm 2019 Fingers Crossed Bien Nacido Vineyard Syrah
$399.99Santa Maria Valley California
Jeb Dunnuck 97-100 Rating
The 2019 Syrah TBD is also magical stuff. Mostly destemmed (there are 25% stems) and aging in 70% new French oak (mostly from Bien Nacido), its deep purple color is followed by incredibly pure crème de cassis and blackberry fruits that give way to more peppery, meaty, spicy notes with time in the glass. Full-bodied, concentrated, yet also flawlessly balanced, it has plenty of tannins and a great finish. My instincts say 2-4 years of bottle age are going to beneficial, but this is brilliant. SP18-1 -
Faethm 2019 Grenache Fingers Crossed
$299.99California
Jeb Dunnuck 96-99 Rating
I was able to taste both the 2019 Grenache and Syrah from barrel, both showing beautifully. The 2019 Grenache TBD is slightly more fruit-forward with lots of red and blue fruits as well as sappy flower and violet notes. A finesse-driven Grenache that still brings serious richness and power, it's full-bodied and has silky tannins, terrific balance, and a sensational sense of freshness. R1-2 SP18-1 -
Familia Nin-Ortiz 2016 Nit de Nin Mas d’en Caçador
$99.99 – $540.00Priorat Spain
Wine Advocate 98 Rating
The 2016 Nit de Nin Mas d’en Caçador was produced with grapes from 78- to 113-year-old vines in the Mas d'en Caçador vineyard in Porrera. It's a blend of Garnacha Negra, Garnacha Peluda and Cariñena with some 5% white grapes. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts in a 3,200-liter oak vat and matured in a similar 2,700-liter oak vat. It has great balance and is ripe and Mediterranean, without any excess; it's incredibly elegant and has character. In a way, it makes me think of a classical Châteauneuf, with fine tannins and subtle minerality
Must be ordered.

Famille Perrin 2019 Gigondas Clos des Tourelles
$54.99Veneto Italy
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Rating
All Grenache that was vinified in tank and brought up in tronconique wooded tank, the 2019 Gigondas Clos Des Tourelles is up there with the top vintages of this cuvée and is well worth seeking out. Roughly 60% destemmed, it has a core of black raspberry fruit as well as lots of ground pepper, spice, violets, and floral notes in its full-bodied, ultra-fine, pure, seamless style. It’s a heavenly Gigondas that will evolve for 15-20 years if stored correctly. R29-2 -
Far Mountain 2020 Fission Cabernet Sauvignon
$49.99Moon Mountain District Sonoma
Enjoyabilityfactor 94 Rating
The wine is dark, fresh and young. Enters with density and freshness together with a long mid palate. Earthy notes are present together with spices and dry herbs combined with the black fruit. Graphite gives way to bright, red fruit on a textural palate marked by mountain minerality. Balance and bright flavors, tannins are present yet in a subtle and soft way. Its defined structure along with fine-grained tannins that are present, yet soft, result in a complex finish that will allow the wine to age gracefully. -
Fattoria le Pupille 2016 Poggio Valente
$39.99Tuscany Italy
Wine Advocate 95 Rating
This wine has been a single-vineyard Sangiovese since Fattoria le Pupille removed the Merlot from the blend in 2012. The 2016 Poggio Valente is precise and direct, the result of a lot of enological brain power and Coastal Tuscany's answer to Brunello Montalcino. It's an excellent expression of Sangiovese, with pretty floral and fruity notes, earthy tones and an unforgettable cameo appearance of blossoming rose. Give the wine ample time to open in the glass.
